I just want to Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts during our psychotic weather today. Sheesh! That was the worst I have ever seen it get in Georgia. We don't have the numbers yet but, I want to say there may have been 5-10 tornadoes that touched down today. None of them hit me directly but, we heard about touchdowns mere miles away. We were really lucky. Our temperatures dipped low enough compared to some of the surrounding areas, to actually break those storm systems in half directing them all around us but, not actually at us. It was the weirdest thing. To me, from the radar views, it looked like we were protected within bubble. We are still supposed to kind of keep our ears and eyes open but, it looks like we are pretty safe at this point. This much fear has been so draining on my hubby and I and we both feel worn out. We headed out a little bit ago to get our grocery shopping done while we saw the best chance and, when we got home, I turned the TV on and I have never been so happy to see commercials in my entire life. All we had seen up until that point all day long was the news with the weather. Turning the TV on to commercials and regular programming was an even bigger weight off of my shoulders than just being told that we are no longer inside of a tornado watch or warning! So, again, THANK YOU to all of you who kept me in your thoughts! I think you helped keep me safe!

Thank you! We are so well and safe now! Today was beautiful and, it was actually hard to believe the disaster of yesterday given how beautiful the sky was today. I love your name! A reference to the Charmed sisters right? I loved that show! I miss it! Where do you live? You are lucky that you don't have to put up with tornadoes! Thank you again for your concern!

Thank you! We are fine now I think! I think I will never get used to tornadoes and the warnings! LOL! But, because I grew up with them now and then in Ohio, I am more used to them than the hubby who didn't grow up with them in NY. Thank you again for your concern!

Yea that thing in Georgia was actually very bad. i'm glad that you and your family is safe. They said that it was so bad that they had to stop the game that went on at the Georgia Dome. So thank God for radios tv, the news channels. But I hope that those who may have gotten injured will be ok. if you have family in Georgia or any friends go see if they are all right.

Thank you DESMASTER! From what I understand, they stopped that game and then finished it about an hour later but, that report may be false! For the damage that was done, I can't imagine they were able to start it back up again. It was pretty bad. The entire day was really bad today. What happened to the GD was last night and then Atlanta got hit by another one today less than 24 hours later. That almost never happens where a tornado hits the center of a large metro city like that did, never mind twice inside of 24 hours! The storms that hit today killed 2 people. It also killed some animals as one of the people that was killed was a vet and she had several dogs there. These storms were so violent and terrifying. All of my family lives in Ohio and Iowa. I am the only one of my family that lives here in GA. But, I kept them informed via text message and phone all day. Thank God for modern technology. We didn't lose power either. Thank you again for your concern!

Glad to hear that you did not get touched by that awful storm, I cannot imagine how scary it must be, no wonder you feel worn out. It would be nice to think that all the positive thoughts helped keep it away wouldnt it!

What part of Georgia does your friend live? There were many thousands of people without power yesterday. Thank you for your thoughts! I hope your friend is ok! Please let me know when you find out!

I had missed the first discussion, so my apologies. I actually found out about the event today after work (heh, maybe I work too hard or I'm locked up too much of the time). Anyways, I'm glad you and your husband are safe. Even though the tornadoes and high velocity winds are gone, you still have my thoughts. I saw the damage done and some other issues created due to storms (power problems, water problems). I know you've said you're safe, but I still worry a bit. Here's to keeping safe and healthy then.

Thank you! We are perfectly safe now. That was so harrowing though. The hubby and I packed up the cats, got the dog ready and put some stuff in some backpacks to take over to the neighbors if we had to make a run for their basement. There was an alarm that went off to the North of us for about a half an hour. I kept wanting to head over to my neighbors at that point but, the hubby kept telling me to calm down. The threats were a few miles to the north of us. But, it was still so terrifying! Thank you for your concern!
