Given a chance to work anywhere around the world? Where would you like it to be and why. Plus what job would you like to have.
Given a chance, I would like to work in Japan because it's a nexus of technological advancements and natural living. I want to work for an NGO like greenpeace and then work part time as an english teacher or writer.
Or do the same job and part time job in gorgeous european countries or australia (though I have to bring loads of sunblock there, lol..)

I like to have my own business. I don't like to work for anyone or any organizations. So I can work on my own, I control my time to work, I responsible to myself (not others), no chasing, no rush, no competative. So if I can have my own business I don't care much about where or which country.

hmm, that may be the case but still, the place can influence the business because of economic stability.. but then again, if you have the skill and passion and also commitment to do the business, i agree that no matter where you are, you'll succeed! goodluck!

if i would have a chance to work anywhere in the world, i'd probably choos europe. :) i think most countries in there are developed and is already paying well for the kind of job i do here.
im just afraid that i might be discriminated and would have lesser chance than white people. Even so, i'd still like to try.

I would love to live and work in many different areas. I really want to check out Ireland. I read that it is the best place to live and work. The website said that the standard of living is much better. Plus my ancesters are from there and I think it would be so cool to see where we came from.

Hello, nice fantasy here! I've been daydreaming about working in different places since I read your discussion! I think I would choose a warm tropical island in the Caribbean where I could run a bed and breakfast resort for people who want to escape the rat race. As with everything else, it would have its negative aspects too (hurricanes and mosquitos to name a couple), however since this is a dream, then they don't fit into my mindset. Somewhere where the tropical breezes flow in the evening and everything you drink comes with a paper umbrella.

well, i'm living in a tropical country right now where everyday's always sunny.. too sunny for my preference though.. lol.. yes, we do have breathtaking beaches here.. mosquitos only flourish in places where they leave stale water.. i don't exactly live beside a beach but i can get to beautiful ones within an hour.. and if i'm really into it, a 30min-1hr air travel.. i do wish someday i can buy a lot near the beach, like a rest house.. and then have it rented occassionally.. i'll treat my guests to mouth watering seafood like prawns, squid, crabs, and such.. i'll never run out of things to do there.. as long as i have a book by my side, it'll be like paradise.. lol..

i agree.. every year, it's the same.. we live from paycheck to paycheck.. i'm planning on migrating to canada or maybe singapore.. it's hard to land a good-paying job here or somehing that you actually like.. i earned a degree from one of the top university here and still i'm not finding a job i like.. life is hard.. i want to pay back the hardship that my parents went through for my education.. but i don't think we have much opportunities here.. australia, i think, is a great country.. sidney is the top city in the world right now (even topping new york mostly because of it's almost 0 crime rate.) anyway, goodluck with your endeavour!

I'd like to work in european countries which is english-speaking like UK coz I don't want to have problems about language barriers. US and Australia also is what I consider. Canada also, but I guess its hard to land in job there which is related to my course. I want to have a job which is related to the course i graduated in.

hmm, yes, working on an english speaking county does have its charms.. but then again, i have always been fascinated with learning new languages - nihongo (japanese) being first in the list.. i grew up watching anime (cartoons) but had to be content with english subtitles or dubbing.. us, australia, and canada are on my list as well.. but it's hard to migrate.. time and money consuming for a 21 year old like me.. i do hope someday i get to travel and live among diverse people.. plenty to learn and experience.. by the way, what course did you finish? mine place me also in the position of less job options.. lol..

Yes why not..but the key is you have to learn the way they live and the culture that might shock you how you adapt with those things.. you have to chance to see what their country looks like and you have options for the future and you might find your soul mate elsewhere in the world.

ofcourse, respect is always key.. and since you'll be the outsider, it'll be a monumental task to both understand the culture without bias of what you're accustomed to as well.. discovering the world making it small while at the same time, being humbled by its greatness..

yes, that was what i wanted also.. but since opportnities are scarce here, my plan is to work abroad, send money to my family and raise the economy a little and then after saving up, go home and do business.. i think with your knowledge gathered through the years, it'll be best to write - anything really.. and i admire that you're still healthy - must be th years of work. i hope you don't underestimate yourself. and stay active and fit. maybe a little gardening will do. hope to hear more from you.
