Usually,I find myself making comparisons with others. But,to tell the truth,it never makes me pleasant except when i compare myself with those who leads a more miserable life or who has some kind of disability.
Perhaps, this is the instinct that I like comparing, but this ,indeed, ocassionally bestows a bright ray upon me when i am in a totally mess.
I wonder do everybody likes making comparison? Or do women like it more than men?
Hope for your responses!

sometimes i do make comparisons with others. however, i do that to try to improve myself. it's more of a character / qualities comparison. i don't compare material stuff as i believe i can have them if i want. it's just a matter of how hardworking i want to be. so if i really want something, i can always take up a second job to earn money for it.
i learnt to count my blessings whenever i see people suffering. so i try to improve myself to be a better person. these comparisons help me in seeing what qualities i lack. cheers.

I do appreciate your not comparing material stuff, and the reasons you gave.

I find myself making comparisons between myself and others, either just in passing or to make myself feel better to motivate myself to improve. If I look better than someone it makes me feel better, but if I don't look as good as someone it motivates me to go to the gym or something. I think it is all positive.

I also try comparing myself to others very oftenly. I compare myself to people of higher rank than me then I say to myself "one day yes" i will be like them, then I work hard to reach my goals. I also compare myself to the less fortunate and then thank God for making me better than them and also pray for them to reach where I am. It is a consolation to be on top of others but also a humbling experience to know the priveledge you have over others.
