In my life, I try to keep myself to be a happy girl all the time, but sometime I can control myself, and feel very sad or depressed. when I am in such situation, I alwasy tell myself that it is nothing serious for me, and every bad thing will go after a certain time. Additionally, I also like go walking in the open air, it's a happy thing that i can see so many beauties of nature.

i would make myself busy so i will forget those things that made me unhappy. Actually like right now, i was sooo disappointed and unhappy that i cried feeling heavy inside. i just made myself busy with mylot.. and i felt whole lotta better now.

Well, in my case... everytime i feel that unhappy or in a sad mood... i always go to the movies alone... if i am watching a sad movie... i will just cry my heart out... and after that i will feel all better... the sadness will not go away... but i can definitely deal with what i am feeling... i am a movie person... so for me... there is nothing that a good movie cannot cure...

instead of go to the movies, i usually watch TV,it's more convernience.I like Korean soap opera, which the story is affecting and i alwasy weep.

I am the same as you I can find happiness in being out in the open air and enjoying the beauty of nature. I never expect happiness it just comes upon me sometimes. I can be unhappy and still enjoy life, as long as I can feel grateful for the little things.

When unhappy, I try to take my mind away from whatever is the cause of my unhappiness. I try not to dwell on it and do things that will take divert my attention from it. Playing with my kids, going out of the house... anything that will keep me busy will do the trick.
Oh, I also try to cheer myself up with my all time fave comfort food... a caramel sundae. :)

Eating favourite food is sometimes i will do when i'm unhappy. I find lots of people eat a lot of food when they are unhappy. to be honest,I 'm a little worry about eating too much food, it will be get weight.

When I get unhappy, first of all I pray and ask GOd why I am feeling that way..then I just think of all my blessings, of all the things, people that I have in my life..and yes I do go out and try to see good in everything I see, especially nature..it just keeps me in awe to think that only GOd can make all these things, then I have nothing to be unhappy about because God is in control.

yea i too try to keep me happy all time but as you said i can control myself sometime.it just comes out.
in such situations is a i am with my friends then i dont have to do any thing they will make sure that i am back to normal.my friends wont let me be in a moody condition.
and if i am alone then i just try to be silent.i prefer to be alone in such situations because if someone else is with me then i might unload everything on them. i dont like it but in such conditions i just do it.that's why i prefer being alone.when i am alone then i might blame the fate for sometime (it might sound stupid but it is a good method).and when my energy is drained out then i will think.once i start thinking then i will be back to my normal state in just few minutes.

We cannot avoid being unhappy. We have feelings that gets hurt. Whenever I'm hurt, I just walk to the nearby park or read some good books or just plainly watch a good movie. It just flies and in a while, I feel better.

wel...wen i am sad...i listen to the songs...sad songs.....but i always try to b happy even in tough times...as i dont want to show my sadness to the wrld...thts y...i try to hide my sadness...aslo..i like to make others happy wen they r donw or sad...

Hello cassie!
Whenever I'm sad I do things that will keep me busy and forget about the sadness or loneliness that I'm having. I usually go to the park, here in China parks are bigger and wider and you'll find peace of mind, or I'll read my favorite book which is Chicken soup for the soul... or I draw... well that is if I'm in the mood, or I will listen to the music or hang out with friends but for me the most effective way to overcome sadness is prayer. It really helps.

i try to move.. i know it's hard to clear the mind when something's bothering you.. when i'm really problematic or sad, all i want to do is run away.. literally.. it clears my head even for a time and release happy endorphins to lessen some of the ache.. or half a pound of chocolates.. just kidding.. or sometimes, just let myself feel the emotion.. what can i do? i'm only human..

Listening favourite songs is a good choice to keep away from unhappiness. sometimes I will do it.

I live in the caribbean, which means I have sunshine all year long. Whenever I am sad I would take a trip to the beach, There is something about the sounds of the waves that calms my nerves. It is such a peaceful feeling! I feel at one with nature. If it is a rainy day, then i go walking in the rain and it calms me downn.

When I am sad I try to keep my mind off of any other negative thing that can enter my mind. i was reading the other day that when we think negative, more negative thought can intrude into our brain. So when you are feeling bad, just sit there an smile for one min. and I cal guantee you will start feeling better. Try it!

You know I am not sure if I have responded to this already because this question looks familiar (sorry I am so cluttered in my brain its not funny) but what I USED to do to numb any depression or sadness was EAT but not doing that anymore... its a temporary reliever and causes other problems in the long run, I either take a walk or blog! Far more effective.

waw i was gona post the same question..
when i'm unhappy i make a cup of tea and set near the window and drink it and look outside ..and i remember the situation or why i'm mad and try to think of solution ..then after that..i go pray to god and ask for help ..after all you have to have someone to open to ..

I usually find listening to happy or uplifting music helps me out a lot. Also just talking to my friends and venting about anything and everything. If you don't really want to discuss what is bothering you with others, you can always write everything down. Sometimes I'll create a word document on my computer and then just erase it all when I'm done. It gets everything off my chest.

It's a good thing to try and approach everyday with a posotive attitude. Unfortunately like you said, things happen, and it is very hard to stay happy everyday. My problem is that even when i'm not happy I try to play off like I am. I've gotten pretty good at it, but pretending doesn't quite satisfy.
I live in a state that isnt year round good weather, but in the summer when the weather permits, it helps me to wait until everyone in my house has fallen asleep, and just go sit outside somewhere. Sometimes on the roof.
Sometimes I keep a type of journal just to write down what i'm feeling and when. I save it for a while, then look back to see what kinds of situations made me react.
It's pretty nice to see how you react differently to things over time.
