It's seems most dvd's bonus material contains commentaries, but how many listen to them? Do you think they are just easy "extra" to sell DVDs? I have to love a movie before I'll listen to the commentary.

I love the commentaries! But usually I will watch the movie first without then watch it sometime with them. I am a film student so I find everything they say very interesting. I love all the behind the scenes stuff.

I think the commentaries are usually annoying. I rarely pay any attention to "extras". Generally, the only extra DVD feature I like is bloopers though many DVDs don't have them...at least they're pretty funny and entertaining.

The extras are nice to have but tehy don't influence me on whether I buy or don't buy a DVD - it is the film itself that sells it to me. If you look at older films from the 60;s etc which have been released on DVD they normally only have cinema trailers on them. The only extras/commentray I have ever listened to are those from the Lord of the Rings films
