Suppose your mother and gril friend drown, which one do you frist save?

You give her a very simple answer. Now, this may seem like a cop-out but it's probably closest to the truth as you can get. It isn't a question you can answer. When you're in a situation like that, you will have the luxury of thinking. You will have to react. Your instincts and reflexes will make the decision. I know someone who had their psychology professor ask this same question of the students in the class. But the reality is you won't have time to think about or "reason" a solution. You'll either save the one closest to you, the one you feel you CAN save. Personally, I think your girlfriend is either unfair to ask this or setting you up in some way for an argument or she's testing you. I would refuse to answer.

I'm assuming your a male, so this is just one way to look at this question with no correct answer. You may have many girlfriend's in your life and you may have more than one wife in your life. But you can have only one mother. So the answer could be, you save your mother. Because your Mom would be mad at you for choosing a girlfriend over her.... a wife may be a different story, but only if your Mom likes your wife...lol That would be my answer, you only have one Mom, but you could have more than one love in your lifetime. Well hello dkarthas, I felt the need to respondto this discussion. Well if I was put in this situation I feel like I would have to go after my mom. I would go after my mom because if it wasn't for her then I wouldn't be here also because you only get one mom. I mena yes I love my boyfriend and if there was time to save his life I would definately with no doubt save his life but my mother comes first. Especially if you have a mother like mines that have been there since forever. My mother had me at age fourteen and she risked her life having me every woman risks there life pushing out children and she wasn't fully develop and was risking her life to have me. Seeing that you only get one mother and many chances at love I would save my mother. Hopefully your girlfreind would be understanding to you if you chose to save your mother. If not then she is really selfish. I mean I know that my boyfriend would be understanding to my reasoning and I pray that if he was put in the smae situation that he'd save his mother instead of me. its a one tough situation and of course you want to save them both, your mother is your own blood who carry you on her womb and took care of you till you reach your age on the other hand your girlfriend is the person you love and might have dream of building a family with her in the future. now with that situation when you can not save them both in one action the best thing for you to do is to save the nearest person to you. i guess that's the most practical, do not choose between them because you will become unfair to the other. so keep your spirit up and save the person next to you.

My dad told me that was a question on a quiz they gave him when he was in the Navy. The answer was: Save the girlfriend (or wife) first because that means you look toward the future instead of the past. Love and affection had nothing to do with the correct answer.

Save your mom without a doubt.... Lovers/gf come n go so easily and are replacable, your mom is not replaceable.
