Do you "Repeat if necessary?

Canada

On the back of shampoo bottles, under the Directions(I am flabbergasted that we as humans would even need directions!) The last direction reads "Repeat if necessary" ....Do you do it? and are you ever thankful that these detailed instructions were included on the shampoo bottle?

you know, I do not find it necessary. my husband always does the repeat - but I do not understand why. he shampoos his hair every weekday, I can not see why he would need to do it twice, but it makes him happy. I think it is a means the shampoo companies use to get us to buy more shampoo - using it up twice as fast.

I like the fact that it doesn't think we're smart enough to know how to use the shampoo, but are apparently competent enough to decide when it is 'necessary' to shampoo again. Ridiculous. I'm not thankful that instructions are on shampoo, it's just them trying to keep themselves out of a law suit, and for the general person who -knows- how to use shampoo, it's just a waste of label.

I find it funny when they have directions like that, duh we need direction to wash our hair. They have to do that to cover their butts, some body might drink the stuff and sue them. Hair dryers have instructions not to use while bathing, while sleeping, etc. I think its utterly ridiculous that they have to do that. You buy hot coffee, the cup says, Caution...contents may be hot..I surely hope so, I don't like cold coffee. BTW. I only wash my hair once, that does the trick, hehe.

I do repeat on occasion...when necessary. I for on am SO glad that the instructions are there because I simply wouldn't know what to do without them. Just like I need the "caution contents may be hot" warning on the cup of HOT COFFEE I just ordered.

I appreciate it when products stated full detail instructions on how to use them. It is more helpful for the side of the consumer to help them set their expectations towards the products. Yes, I do repeat if necessary. There are times that I feel like I am not satisfied with the first time I applied it, so I do.

I sometimes do repeat if I think it is necessary - even if there are no such directions on the bottle. Everything had detailed instructions these days.

I never repeat with shampoo, because I can never get the bubbles out of my hair! With conditioner I do sometimes condition it twice only because my hair needs it. I do look at the directions for conditioner though as some conditioners are wash in, wash out and some you have to leave on for a few minutes first.

i don't put much stock into the directions on most things. i once saw on a AP stick to "remove the cap" before use. hmmm, i was wondering why my AP was lasting so long!. i see them more as "suggestions" than directions. this way, you can put your own spin on things.

Nope. Very wasteful in my opinion. Occasionally if I go an extra day between washings and have used the real sticky-icky hairspray, it doesn't feel like it all comes out the first time, so I will add just a dab for a second go. I don't use a lot of shampoo anyway. You don't need a lot of lather. And no, I rarely have cause to even contemplate most of the stuff printed on bottles.
