3 days ago my father bought a fish and have it salted and dried under the sun. But since father needs to go to work, he told me keep an eye on it and have it when the sun already set or when there it rains. So I keep it and have it place in a container uncover. The next day, I have it again placed under the sun and keep late in the afternoon. On its third day, my sister was the one keeping it, I don't know where she put it, to my surprise, early this morning, I saw the salted fish full of worms, my sister have it place on a tight container and she covered it because she said it stink.
Upon seeing the worms, I just wonder where do these worms come from. Anyone who has explanation about it, please share, your ideas are appreciated.

The fish might have started to spoil by the time your father salted it. It would have been contaminated before that itself. Or you would have kept it covered before it got dried up completely. Then fungus forms and the result is worms. Something like this might have happened.. If you cover a fish and keep outside with out drying or freezing it will get spoilt. Then it'll start to stink and you can only throw it off. All the best

When the salted fish is not fully dried, the worm (look like maggot)will produce by itself from the fish and not necessary from the flies. This is natural in tropical and warm countries where worms can produce by itself even without the agent, the flies.
So, in order to avoid your salted fish having worms, you must make sure that it is really dried to be fried as salted fish.
