Marked as "Best Response"?

Ok, so you receive a notification that your comment was marked as "Best Response", how do you react to this?
Do you:
- respond to the same discussion and say "thank you"?
- send a message to the author and say "thank you"?
- be happy, and do nothing about it?
What do you do? I have no idea how this works here.

I have done all of the above. There is not really a way that it works. It is a very individual thing. To me, receiving a best response is like someone giving you a compliment and I like to thank people when I receive a compliment.

Oh onewickedsould that's the same question that I am about to ask. I recieved those notifications and Im really happy that people recognize my effort. I guess I will send them a personal message to express my gratitude.

I think that's a great idea, but, what if you get so many? Like, a hundred? Haha, I wish I get hundreds!

If that would happen which I think its far from possibility, I would really spend some time to send them a message saying my thank you.. Whew, how I wish..

my first reaction is hhurray one more in my best responses. Second thing which i do is say thank you for best response.
I keep in mind to mark his/her response best response if it's worth next time. I mean person has little edge over others.

Sometimes I'll thank them, but most times its not really needed (as I put a lot in responses, you are free to check).
It also feels nice to get them.
Also, with a legion of BRs, it helps my case the star system doesn't reflect the quality of the poster.

I have gotten a few best responses since I started mylot.
I wasn't sure what was appropriate. So; I smiled and was happy but did not message the person who gave it to me.
I hope my lack of follow up did not make them think of me as rude or ungrateful.
Thanks for an interesting question.

I hope so, too, because until now, I haven't done any of the choices I stated above, except smile and be happy.
