My daughter's birthday

My youngest daughter turns nine years old on Monday, March 24th and we are celebrating by throwing her a birthday party on Saturday, the 22nd. She is having a Tinkerbell themed birthday party because she is completely into Tinkerbell right now. She has been talking about wanting a pinata for her birthday, but we ran short with cash after getting the things we needed for the party. Well, I found a solution to the problem. I am making a pinata. I don't quite know how it's going to turn out because I've never made one before. But she is excited about it. I guess that is all that really matters! I started the pinata tonight and am letting it dry. I am going to finish it tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I learned about pinata's when I lived in Texas...they are alot of fun and really not to hard to make. Word of warning though...when your letting the kids whack it witha stick make sure all the other kids are plenty far enough back...I've seen a few kids get clobbered by over-zealous whackers. :) !!HAPPY EASTER!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

It is easy to do. And she is so happy to have it. I will keep that in mind and make sure the other children are standing clear. Thanks! Happy Easter!

I think that pinata will mean more to her than anything else because her mom made it!!!! Especially if she got to help make it, that's an excellent memory she will cherish with you. That is an excellent idea on making the pinata yourself. You have always been very creative! You save money and she gets her pinata. Very good! I am sorry we won't be able to be there for the party. We are going to be on the road. Blech!

I did that with my sons party. He wanted a pirate party and so I made his pinata into a pirates chest, it was ok looking, and it did hold all the goodies.. I hope yours turned out ok, since you made it yesterday, it should be dry enough if you finish it this morning..

Unfortunately its not completely dry yet, but should by the morning. So I told her that she could decorate it in the morning before the party. Her and her oldest sister is going to decorate it. She is so excited and can't wait! I hope it turns out ok too!

What an excellent idea! Your daughter is going to have so much fun! And I'm sure the pinata will be fine, she'll probably appreciate it even more because mommy made it. It just shows how much you care about seeing your child happy. What exactly are you creating for a pinata? You are very creative to take on such a task! I don't know if I could do it, but it does sound fun. Best of luck! And a big "happy birthday" to your sweet girl!

Well to make the pinata I blew up a large balloon and covered it with the newspaper and water-flour mixture. I got some crepe paper and am going to let her decorate it however she wants. So I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. I just hope I did a good enough job on it that it holds. lol It's easy to make, if you want I can give you the directions. Thanks!

I am sure she will love the pinata. Last year I sent my niece a tinkerbell watch (she loves tinkerbell too) that I ordered from Disney, the prices vary and you can customize the watches to the way you want it. Here is the link in case you ever want to order one for your daughter for a future gift. http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DSISearch?D=watch&Dn=0&langId=-1&Nao=0&Ntk=DisneyStore&Nr=OR%28p_storeID%3a10051%2cp_storeID%3a10601%29&catalogId=10007&Nu=p_productID&banner=10601&Ntt=watch&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&storeId=10601&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Dr=OR%28p_storeID%3a10051%2cp_storeID%3a10601%29&N=0&categoryId=21001 The pic I included is of the one I ordered for my niece. She loves it.
