My mum is in the hospital. She should go two months ago, but she was so stubborn she didn't want to go and the pain was wost and worst. teh ambulance was in my parents house at five times and she still was saying she will be fine, but the last pain she could not really stand , so they take her to hospital finally. The doctors were so horrified so they have to put her to the intensive care. Now thankfully she is better but have to stay there at least for month. If she would go before she might stay for week or two. Have something like this happend to you, when you was stubborn and they you have to pay for it?

Dear Laurika,
I am like her only. I always tell my kids and my hubby if anything happns not to take me to the hospital ever. I just hate the place. My father used to say that if he was taken to the hospital he will not come back alive. He didn't.. I also keep saying like that only. Maybe like father like daughter. My mother was not like that, she has been admitted tyhrice before she passed away. It is very difficult for me to accept.
Your mother could have gone when her pain was less, if I were in her place I would also have done the same thing. So I cannot advise her at any cost. All the best

No, I do not remember ever being that stubborn. Ny ex-boyfriend use to be like that. I felt it was a macho thing for him. Hopefully, this will teach your mom to get to the hospital sooner next time. I know the feeling of loving a stubborn person, it can be rough.

i don't like to go to doctors and let alone hospital... but because of my stuborness, i was hospitalised about 2 weeks ago and i have to pay a very high price for it... i am sick and i just try to bear with it until it gets worst and worst... when i go to the doctor, it had gotten so bad that i had to be hospitalised and i have to stay one night in ICU... now i am still recovering and try to take care of my health as i don't want something similar to happen again... i am sorry to hear about your mum's condition... hope she will get better soon and will be able to go home... take care and God Bless you...

Oh wow, laurika, I'm sorry. I'm glad she finally went. Do they know what is wrong with her for sure? That must be very scary. About two years ago my dad was putting off going to the doctor for neck and shoulder pain. He went after months of agony, and they decided to do a shot into his neck. This is fairly common. But when they went in, the doctor accidentally hit something which caused a blood clot to start to go to his brain. He had to have emergency surgery and was in the ICU for a while. If he had gone prior to it getting that bad, perhaps he wouldn't have had to resort to the shot in the first place.

My mum is having those big sores on her legs and all is come from her heart, because she doesn't have good pills(strong enough) so her legs were without oxygen and last three days she could walk anymore and had terrible pain. But now when I hear all those stories like one with your dad, I understand much more why the people are so scared. Hope he is ok now.

oh dear,
that is an awful long stay! I do hope her recovery is full. I tend to not go to the doctor soon enough as well. But mine have not been terribly serious afflictions as a result... the worse that happened was I should have had stitches once and delayed going - so the scar tissue grew really weird and left a huge flap which kept getting caught on things and tearing. the doctor gave me heck for it, cut off the flap and sewed it up. he was a mean doctor and likely the reason I waited so long to begin with.

I don't think my situation was that bad. In fact, I was quite the opposite. My doctor tried to tell me my problem was only a urinary tract infection and sent me home with antibiotics telling me if I hurt after a week to come back. A week later I went back and she sent me for a CT. When the results came back they sent me for an MRI because there was a large growth and they couldn't see the ovaries. It turned out I had an 18cm x 16cm x 12cm mass and part of it was on the ovary. I was sent to a gynecologist a week later and that afternoon I was sent to a gynecology/oncologist. A week later I was in surgery after which I was told it was ovarian and uterine cancer. In this case it was the doctor who was stubborn since on the CT the growth was smaller, but the point is: If you have some unexplained pain that does not respond to treatment that normally helps GET IT CHECKED OUT!!!! Your life could depend on it!!! Fortunately, I got caught early and I have been cancer free for over four years.
