A while ago I was at the store buying DS stuff for my kid. When at the check out i found this older lady buying a wii for her grand kids. She then asked if they had another so all her grandkids could have one at home instead of just at her house. She said she wanted the one she bought to stay at her place so they would have entertainment when they came over. She asked a bunch of questions about what it even was and what she should buy with it ..anyways. When she asked about buying her 2 the sales clerk said she couldnt because so many people were buying them for resale. She looked confused so I asked if i bought it and gave it to her would that be alright? The clerk said yes but that i couldnt use her credit card. So i said sorry to the older women and went about with my purchases. I had forgot something and had to go back looking for it when the women aproached me again. She had went to the atm and drew the money out and wanted to know if i was serious about helping her. I said yes i was. She looked happy and asked if I would still buy it for her. I said yes and she handed over more then 300.00 bucks. I made the purchse for her and carried it outside with her so she would get no furthur questions about it. As she walked away she took my hand shaked it and said thankyou while slipping me 20 bucks. I tried to call her back to return it but she kept walking like she had not heard me. Now this is what surprised me. This women trusted that I would not run off with her 300 bucks. How many of you would do that?

WOW. No, I don't think I would do that...not $300. I mean, I guess she was right there with you and such, but...wow. No, I really don't think I would. Very cool experience for you, though! :)

i think it's easy to trust someone through our actions. you did act in a very trustworthy way and she did know that you were a kind and could be trusted.
i think i wouldn't run away with such money. "who knows tomorrow" as one of my motto: what you do today will be your earnings tomorrow. so it's better to sow good seeds and on a fertile soil so that you can rip good results in the future.
i believe that sometimes we get the payment of our actions on earth here before we die. actually i'd not do that no matter how bankrupt i am.
more grease to your elbow for the good done. God bless.

First off, that was amazingly kind of you. I would've done the same thing. I am not trying to be boastful, I just think that if more people were willing to help their fellow human beings than the world would be a lot better place. Perhaps I am too trusting of people but in her position I would have done the same thing. There are too few kind-hearted people left in the world good to know there are at least some out there. ^_^ Great discussion topic.

Well, i think the old lady is very kind for the trust she layed on other people. She believes that in the world good people are much more than bad ones, and in my opinion, that is the truth for me,too. However, i seldom do such things in reality, that doesn't mean i don't trust in other people, i just want to do all things by myself, i just don't want to bother others.
