Well guys, I guess the internet is far better then the TV... we cannot forget that without a TV a computer was never born or the internet was suggested from the first place. But if you look now...TV can be streamed over the net...DVDs can be bought from the net...Series can be downloaded also from the net... As for me I don't ahve time for example to wait and watch the series on TV... I prefer to download them adn watch them on my convenience... What is your opinion?

I agree with a couple of the others, internet is better. I won't say either one is so great, as didscourages human contact and the other makes it virtual. Either way, physical and verbal interaction is discouraged. Don't get me wrong, I love the internet! I've gotten acquainted with people I would never have otherwise been able to be friends with. I think that TV and the internet has allowed parents to leave kids unattended and I think that's where we'll see the real consequences--in about ten more years. Guess I'm old. I think both are great but people misuse them.

I believe that the best invention of the twentieth century would have to be the internet. Mostly because, with the internet, you can browse what you'd like, whenever you'd like, and get your own ideas out there without paying tons of money. Plus, the internet has the option to view what you really want without having to watch the channels that you're only provided. Plus, as another sidepoint, the internet is also interactive, while the television is not. The internet helps further most interesting conversations while the television really only exists for entertainment. Another plus of the internet is the sharing of music and other ideas. Unlike on the television, the internet allows you to get what you want, when you want it, which is a great thing when it comes to be exposed to people of like-mindedness.

I think television is. This is the earlier network that we can safely say was a precursor to other networks such as video conferencing and the internet!

I think it would be the Internet, why? because it is a two-way communication media unlike the tv which is a one-way communication media. I can e-mail my friends and they can reply through internet. As for tv I can only watch and sit back (well, tell me if Sharapova can hear me when I cheer at her while I watch her matches...)

I think we can't compare both medias because they are not entirely but bit different form each other. TV is not a source of entertainement but also informative as well while internet is a very vast media where u can get what u want what i think is that using internet u can get or do what u want while on TV u dont have authority to see what u want, u can only play with remote to change the channels and if u get according to ur desire; well good! or if not then may be u swtich off the TV.

I think from the choice between TV and Internet I would choose the Internet as the best invention for the 20th century. I have been able to manage my finances much more easily with online banking, and online comparison sites help me save money on bills, earn more interest on savings. The internet is a very useful tool for finding information and provides cost effective communication. I disposed of my TV as I prefer watching DVDs on my computer when I am not on the net for various reasons. I dont like having to watch programs when the TV channels broadcast them, I agree that it is nice to have the convenience of having a series ready to watch at your own convenience. That way you don't miss episodes or fret about recording them, and you don't have to pay for a sky box to rewind TV, or whatever it does.

Well I have to agree with you a 100%! Our reception is terrible where I live, and we're also last on the list for the planned Digital switch over. I love that online, I can watch what I like, when I like - without all the rubbish in between !

How can you not include cars and espcially planes. These forms of travel enabled us to connect in person with family/friends who lived far apart.

I agree that the interet is better than TV. I haven't looked at a TV for years except when it was on somewhere I was going to (a hospital or restaurant or some such place). Growing up, there were no computers (at least not in homes) so it is something I became familiar with well into adulthood. Since I have had a computer, I have not watched any TV to speak of.
