chinese are very fond of animal blood.it's very good for health.after it is solidified, the blood of pigs, ducks, geese and chicken is included in various soups and dishes.
duck's blood is good antidotal food, with special effects in treatment of diarrhoea and nausea.
it's also a common dish in my family.what about you? do you eat it and how do you cook it? if no,what's the reason?

noooooo. I will not eat it unless it's the last food that's left on earth!Other people in my country eat Dinuguan (Pork Blood Stew) with Puto (steamed rice cake) but i really cannot stand it.
I don't even like any animal organs... like intestines, kidneys or those stuff... there are other people who enjoy eating those but i certainly don't.

I used to eat animal blood in my childhood. However, I found some of friends don't eat it at all after I came to the current city. They all think animal blood is not clean enough. For the same fear, I have come to eat less.
Frankly, I like it if the animal blood is made by family. But majority of people including my family buy directly animal blood from grocery store.

there is likely to be some blood in the juices of our meats as we cook them and make gravy from them - but we do not bleed an animal to partake of its blood, nor do we find any medicinal effects from their blood - rather we find that blood (raw) is a carrier of disease and infection.

I think it's ridiculous to eat animal blood even for medicine, but I knew that some Chinese medicine use snake's blood as a medicine by taking it without any additional process to that blood. I'm not interested to consider eventhough it's really works and even better than modern medicine. I'll always prefer modern medicine.

Some dishes with blood as ingridient is also a common here in our country. We have a dish here called Dinuguan or Pork Blood Stew and in the streets you will see a lot of vendors selling Blood BBQ. I also eat them once in a while or when it is served to me, but I am not very fond of it and it is something I will surely not wish for.

No, I don't think I could cook it. I have tried snake's venom and snake's blood when I was visiting China and I know that there are certain UK/Irish dishes that do include animal blood but I'm afraid I'm not too keen on them. I don't mind my steak rare but that is as far as I take it....

Everyone who eats meat eats animal blood. That's why meat is pink. However this is much different from eating solidified blood in your cooking! I'm sure it is nutritionally beneficial but I couldn't bring myself to drink/eat a whole lot of it. I am also concerned with how this blood is attained. Is the animal bled before it's killed? If so I think that's cruel and therefore would be morally against eating it.

So youre my new friend, welcome and may we start our mylotting things. Yes, I eat cooked blood of pigs and chicken but not the other animals. We have this dish mostly cooked by pigs intestinal parts and the blood itself. It can be eaten as one dish or as in between meals with baked rice puddings and the like. If what you are saying is true then its good also for my body. There are many kind of dishes being cooked here using blood of animals. I dont know how to cook but I can see how it is done.

Animal blood is not a desired dish in my family because it is believed that the blood holds the soul therefore should not be consumed. We do not have any objection to anyone else consuming blood. My uncle would drink the blood of the cattle he killed and often offerred some to my father. My father never drank with him; my uncle believed he would be endowed with the strength of the fallen animal if he drank its blood. I say to each his own but for me and mine we will not partake.

No. But I would probably try it, but it isn't common here where I live, so it would be hard to try.
