my discussions are not getting too many responses why

I ma wondering is it because I am still fairly new here or am I wording them badly or picking uninteresting subjects? I mean I have a lot of responses on the more argumentative subjects but few on some that I thought were good subjects? Can any of you mylotters give me some clues please? I would appreciate it. I was told that I gave out best responses much too early so am trying to remedy that. Also my slippery fingers do goof on typos sometimes but I feel sad when I only see three responses on some of my discusssions.

It's very important who you pick and accept as your friends. It really is believe me. But on the same side, I see you have 38 friends, and to get consistent responses, you usually get them from those on your friend list. And it takes a lot of friends to get those responses at first. Since not everyone is active at the same time, we can't of course count on everyone answering at the same time. Which means the more friends the better. I think it is a good idea to wait on best responses. I wait two weeks, but think a week is sensible. Some people are put off by those who reward one the same day as the discussion. As for your topics, they have been great. Believe me, it happens to all of us. I have close to 200 friends, and just last week I started a discussion that only got two responses. And it wasn't on something obscure! So you just keep being fabulous you, and it will all come along. It happens to all of us. I thought I'd never see a day where I got more than five responses in a discussion.

I respond to a discussion I like whether it has a best response given or not, but strangely enough a lot of other people feel differently. Maybe they feel like their response won't be read. Whatever is, you just remember that the people who DO respond appreciate your discussions very much.

thanks you all are restoring my confidence and I have now realized that it is unfair to give best responces too son so will wait a few days and see if that does not help a lot

thanks ambiepam I do appreciate how all my friends have so generously responded and I also am going to wait a bit before awarding best responses as it is only fair to all who respond.

I've gone through phases where I dont get many responses either. I think its normal.. it all depends on who is online and who is interested in reading what. I do know how you feel though, I've thought the same thing. It just depends on what audience you have when you write. Theres nothing worse than posting a discussion and getting no answers though. I have many unresolved discussions.

Hey, buddy! Don't despair. I can respond to your discussion right now, and right in this topic, right? Just continue to post and don't be consumed with no responses. We naturally have our ups and downs. Here is a tip! Instead of posting more discussions, why not respond more. You will earn by responding to discussions more than posting one. Keep up that lowering arm and start hitting your keyboooooaaaaaaaaaard!

I think the good thing about your discussions is that you keep on commenting them and making them available for new people. I think when we keep on commenting most probably we get more responses than we think.

Hi Hatley, Sometimes I don't get many responses either. I don't know why and don't give a lot of thought to it, although I do attempt to start discussions that might be interesting to a lot of people. Responding to the discussions of others if I have something to say is my biggest area of participation in mylot.

Joyce I live in Tustin Ca so am not too far from you. I live in North Tustin just over the city line which is interesting as the tustin police will go only as far as the Circle K shop so if we ever need the police we haveto call the Sheriffs department instead. I am in a gated apt complex with security gate soit is reallyquiet here as opposed to where we lived in downtown tustin

It seems once you get friends your responses increase and it also helps to get friends in the interests you are having trouble getting responses to. Also even if you give your best responses too early, there are some that will go to your profile and respond to them there. Look I have about six interests that I only have one or two responses to and when that interest has only twelve or so friends it is rather hard.

Well be patient and you'll see a couple of days you get response from your discussions because this mylot caters globally and we have different time frames so maybe in a span of 24-48-72 hours you can get response.

Hiya Hatley, do not be disheartened, I too have the same thing sometimes, but just keep putting those discussions out there! I do not do my best responce until I have given it some time to circulate as sometimes people do not see it straight away. If you like I will request you as a friend and then I can see when you put a new discussion on and then if I can respond then I will!

Hatley, I kind of know you since I've been in these boards for the past few days seeing you online. From those days that I've seen you make a discussion, I actually thought that you got a decent amount of response from your discussion. If your talking about having less response with good subjects, I also experience that. Sometimes, subjects that I made which I think wasn't even that good and cliche would receive multiple response and I would just suddenly be surprised early in the morning to receive so many response. I think that's because most mylotters like to respond to questions they know of. Therefore cliche ones tend to get more response since they can just repeat again and again what they said. Argumentative subjects are also more easier to respond to... I've seen a 200 response with just a question asking whether you liked tv or the internet. Also, if your discussion is about a story that doesn't leave too much questions, this would make posters wonder how they could respond.

Hi Hatley, don't get upset :)I'm super new here perhaps not suitable to say things to you...just wanna let you know that I only have "one" reponse in each of my discussion...hehe, but I'm still happy. As long as there is "one" person to give you a feedback, you're still a winner, smile and be happy :)

It is also my question. will you believe that i am here for more than 1 yr and still unable to find the secret of gettings loads of responses. I guess one obvious factor is how much popular you are. then there are the factors like how much you are active. also the title should be catchy to gt responses.

I would be happy to get 3 responses from some of my discussions, Hatley. Believe me, I have a few just sitting there with only one response. I don't worry, though, because the posts held meaning for me even if they don't seem to interest anyone else. This brings to mind something a myLotter recently said about where are all of your many friends when you post a discussion that only receives one or two responses. I know that I often respond to discussions posted by friends even when it is something that does not interest me. I do it to support their efforts.

Hi hatley, I just read thru some of your discussions and from what I saw they seem to be interesting enough. Don't give up. I have had that on some of my discussions too. It is easy to miss some discussions as they shuffle around on here so much. I have some that I hear nothing on for weeks and then someone will come across it and it brings it back to the front and I'll get several responses. I don't think you should worry about it.

It's all right friend. Getting a few discussions is just normal. I have a post that had only one response but I don't worry about it. As long as I can actively participate in my friends' discussions, I can survive my mylot visits. My earnings keep increasing anyway. If they don't respond to your discussions, respond to others and you're good.
