What do you do with your ugly photos?

My father was a photographer before he concentrated on his teaching career. Because he loves photography, we (my siblings and I) usually become his subject. We have lots of pictures...any kind, any pose, funny or very, very funny. In some pictures I look nice...but in most of them, I look ugly. When I was in my teens, I usually hide all my ugly photos ashamed that others might see them and laugh at me. I always feel embarrassed when I don't look good in pictorials. But now, I don't care anymore on how I look. I print and collect all pictures no matter how pretty or ugly I am in the pictures. Now, when we browse our albums, we always have a good laugh when we see how we appeared in the pictures or how funny or awkward we look on a fad dress we are wearing.
Have you had any picture/pictures in which you don't look good? What did you do with them? Did you destroy, throw or hide it? Please share your stories.

I generally have seen many people who look great and their pictures are like real ugly.
hope this applies to me, cos I always look in the mirror and think 'yeah I look pretty good', and then I'll see myself in a photo and think 'OMG who's that ugly ****er!! Oh it's me!! Oh God I'm hideous!!!'
I hope I look better in 'real-life' than in photos. I tell you one thing, there is no person on earth who is immune from looking bad in a photo.
I have seen even the most beautiful women look NASTY in some photos, so I guess it can happen to any of us.
I never detroy or throw them, I keep them to scare children. hehehehehe

I have plenty of pictures that I don't think i look good in. Those pictures I keep in my photo box and don't use them in frames or for scrapbooking. there isn't much else I could do with them other than throw them out and I don't want to do that cause I do tend to go back and look through them and remember good times.

When I was younger like you I hide all my ugly picture I put it in a box but I did not throw in the trashcan or destroy it. Now that I know how to appreciate any thing I put it in the album and my children when they see it they are laughing and laughing to what they see. One of my children say why did I still my ugly picture and I told him I just want to see you laugh Ha ha ha . Now of my children's photo I keep it and and want to see how they change everyday until they reach their adulthood.

Oh man, there are TONS of hideous photos of me! But the way I see it, I'd rather go back and look at old photos of myself and be like, "Eww... I look so much better now!" than to look back and be like, "Man, I used to be so pretty... I wish I still looked like that!" So whenever I see an old photo of me that I don't like, I just let it go. You can't change the past, and it's not worth it to try and hide or destroy the photos to pretend like it never happened.

Some I keep for laughs and some I distroy. There is one in particular that was taken during my week of orientation for college.
There are some college/universities who as a part of their welcome to new students (freshmen/freshers) grub them. Grubbing involves playing tricks on the freshmen or placing them in funny situations. Its all for laughs and a way of introducing you to college life. It also helped to give an idea about the strengths and weaknesses of the group.
In the photo I mentioned we were not allowed to wear any shoes to our Freshmen concert and had to improvise by making slippers out of cardboard and strings. It was real fun as we had to interact with each other to find an answer to each challenge that was given. We also had to wear foil on our teeth and carry a candle (not real, we had to make it from paper and foil) to create light because they turned off most of the lights in the lecture theater. We also had to pad ourselves with a pillow and wear a sheet wrapped around us like an indian wrap and our heads were wrapped. We had fun laughing at each other and of course there were those who were not too thrilled but the common idea was that we get to know each other, learn to create fun moments because college would be a challenge and a home away from home, as well as the nature of the job we were about to be trained for (teaching) required that we learn to improvise when the necessaries were not available to us.
I guess you can decipher from my lengthy response that that ugly picture holds a lot of fond memories for me. It makes me laugh to this day and I look forward to the day when I can share it with my children.

I am not photogenic and I perfectly understand what you're saying. My ugly photos are still intact in our family photo albums. I don't intend to scan them but by keeping the albums around, I can reminisce the yesteryears with all those outdated photopapers.

Just like you... keep them, I love pictures too and you know that. I don't care if I look silly on it. I want the memory etched in it. And most importantly, I want to see the improvement.. you know... the THEN and NOW comparison. The good laughs, oh it never fails to amuse me to see old pictures and the stories behind.
