I start my day watching news and ended it watching news too. I want to know what is happening in my state especially the wheather. Our entire day and activities are depended on the kind of wheater we are having for the day especially for my hubby who works outside all the time, he is a carpenter. I also like to know new inventions and health issues. Though I hate anything about politics because nothing is new about it (I guess). Do you watch news? what do you like about the news program that you watch?

Same with my hubby. His work is so dependent on the weather because he is a carpenter and his job is mostly outside.

Like you, I start and end my day watching news. It is my way of keeping update with the current issues. I am used to reading newspapers before, but because newstands and newspaper vendors are a bit far from where I live, and because my daughter always interferes with my reading, I rarely reads newspapers now. Watching news gives me the luxury of getting the latest news and taking care of my child at the same time. It's a good thing that the newscasting style now is more entertaining than before. When you watch news, it's like reading a magazine...you've got latest news, special features, PEP (people, places and events), and even star news.

Of course, news on TV is the more convenient source of information. I know what you mean too. When I was a kid, my grandpa would always tuned in to news channel and I hate it. Maybe because I was still a kid but then, as far as I can remember, news before is not that exciting to watch.

I watch news everyday, I like it very much. Everyday when I turn on my computer, I go online and come to the main page of sina news. Browsing some important news, then come to the page of NBA and F1 in the sports page. I would read these news carefully, because I like sports very much, especially NBA and F1.

i like watching news because i believe there are many things happening everyday of which we should know and pay attention to. to tell you the truth, the news i like best are political news. i am very interested in politics in the world and i think it is very important to my own country and myself. on the other hand, i have to pay more attention to the news about law because i am a law school student and i need to obtain the latest news about law like new laws. i like watching news on internet which is quicker than tv.

Me too, I want to know what is happening in world politics. I used to teach Asian History before and I was used to updating my knowledge for my students' sake.

I listen to the news on NPR because my local people are mostly idiots. If I see a bunch of cop cars racing down my street towards the high school or the highway i may turn it on to see if they have any information, but once or twice I have called up and got a huh, there is a news story somewhere kind of response.

LOL. Well, I can't blame you to watch news on NPR, good thing here in my place, when we do see cop's car on the street, 95% of the time we see it on the 6pm news.

I do try to watch the news on a daily basis because I think it's important to be informed about whats going on in the world, and especially if it's happening right around the corner. I agree with you about the politics. There are plenty stations that cover that sort of news round' the clock. Even though the news can be a negative and depressing thing to watch I like to feel connected to whats going on around me. I also learn a lot of things by watching the news so thats very helpful. What I don't like about the news is when they tell you about something important that you need to know like a food recall but you have to wait until the end of the news to find out! lol. "There is something in your home that could be hazardous to your health... find out what it is... tonight at 10..." ;)

I just watch or read or listen to news once in a while and it's been so long since I watched a straight news program on TV. I don't know but my life is still normal even I don't know the day to day happening within the country and around the world. I spent most of the time in front of the computer.

I see, I can't blame you and believe me, when I was still there, I don't want to hear anymore news at all. They are all the same, horrible and depressing.

I don't watch the news. I check the headlines on Yahoo and AOL. Anything major around here (usually nothing) I hear through the grapevine and will check out online. Weather I get online, right in my toolbar and it is usually close enough to accurate for what we need. Part of that is we do not get local channels...I might turn on the local news at 6 pm if we had it available.

One good thing about it, is that you can choose the kind of news that you want to know unlike in TV, you get what you get, you have no choice. thanks.
