your stomach in the case you are very full?
my parents used to be the latter.they are traditional chinese and always leading a simple life. in their opinion,it's a waste to pour ort into dustbin, and it's a little uncomfortable to keep them to another day. thus, they'd rather pour them into stomach instead of dustbine.while,it's indeed a bad habit, which is harmful to health.
what about you,my friend? how do you deal with those leftover?

In the past, there is a saying in China that saving is virtue while wasting is disgraceful. But nowadays some people in China are extravagant. They waste not only the food but also other staffs. I really feel ashamed of them. Despite the level of our living has improved, we should still comply with the good tradition. It is a very important quality for an individual and even a nation.

We waste so much food, especially in western Europe. I do wish people would think more so they don't waste as much.
If we have vegetables that we might not use we try to make soup and freeze it so we don't end up throwing it in the bin. We try to plan meals for the week rather than on the day and we always check in the firdge every day to make sure we know what's there.
Of course, its silly to eat food that could make you ill but if you are sensible and plan ahead you shouldn't have any food that could make you ill.

I can't stand it when people throw perfectly good food into the garbage. My boss at work does that all the time. I can't eat all that much chocolate, but she had a big, huge, dish of my favorite chocolate on the kitchen table. I had a few every time I was there, but I guess no one else was eating any. After only a couple of weeks, she threw it all in the trash! I mean, chocolate candy can last at least a month, in my opinion. Or, she could have put it in the refrigerator or taken it home. She just assumed that no one else liked it, so she threw it out. She'll also throw away other things after only a few days just because they're just beginning to get stale.
I don't throw anything away unless it's completely bad, like moldy or totally hard as a rock. If I don't plan to eat it right away and can freeze it, I will. It drives me nuts when someone throws away food.

Dear sophialin,
I never throw anything into the dustbin unless it is spoilt and cannot be used. When Icook if I think it is more for two, I separate and keep it rerigerated for another days use. Just cover with a foiland refrigerate. There you have food for a rainy day. You can just warm it aanmd use it whenever you need. Since sometimes when I come back from work I feel tired and won't feel like cooking at all. Those days I can use these left overs.
Or I just pass it on to the maid who comes home to clean out for me.. All the best

Well my family used to waste so much food and I would get so cross, somethings you can get away with having later on in the day, but these days you have to be careful what you reheat or eat the next day. We do have a special bin that all the waste food goes into and then it is taken away and made into compost which is then sold on, which is a good idea and so cuts down on waste. But I now cut down on the amount of food I make, I usually make just enough now and so I do not have hardly any waste at all.

If it's just a little bit more, then we will try to finish it all.. BUt if it's too much, we will keep it in the fridge for the next day.. BUt for some food that cant be kept, we will just throw it away.. We wun stuff in the excess into our stomach when we are full ^_^

There is very little waste in our home, so the dustbin very rarely gets a chance to have some. I will use yesterdays dinner as an example, we had meat, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and gravy. The outside of the cabbage and carrots went to help feed the guniea pigs and rabbits we have as pets, the meal was cooked but there was extra of all so today we had cold meat and fried up the rest of te potato, carrot and cabbage as a bubble and squeak to go with which I then added a fried egg too. No waste at all.
I live on a budget and usually manage to make meals last over two days and will always cook extra if doing a casserole or mince dish and freeze for another time. Ellie :D

I try not to waste food by throwing it away, so depending on what is left(and just how full I am), I'll either eat it or put it up for another time.
And yes, my ever expanding waistline can attest to what I do.

I save them. Some taste even better after flavors have mingled a bit more overnight anyway.
