I would lose about $6 in change. I hardly ever carry money around any more. I have my debit card and spend less when I have to use it because it seems like such a hassle. If I carry cash I spend it like it is water!

The cash would not be too big a loss then, just the debit card!

Another empty purse, best time to lose a purse unless you have everything else in there too, which I do, I have everything in mine.

Thats good then, I am actually thinking of watching what I have in my purse personal wise, because that is probably the greater loss over money. Something that I did not actually consider before now,

Once when I wasstill working I thought I had lost my wallet and I was nearly freaking out as all my id and credit cards and soc security and bank card and insurance card was in it and I wondered how I was going to replace them. I searched my locker and the whole library then went home after work and sat down on the edge of my bed. I was so upset then my foot nudged something and I looked down and under the edge of the bedspread there was my wallet with everything intact. what a relief!!

If I were to lose my purse right now. I would lose over $1200.00. I don't carry this money around on the best days. But after cashing a cheque I have some bills to pay, some groceries to buy and a few other things to pick up. After all that paid and bought I would have about $600 left over. But I wouldn't be just losing the money. I have the credit cards, debit cards, all my ID's. I wouldn't care about the money but replacing the cards again like birth certificate, social security card etc I would be losing a great deal. I wouldn't know who I was anymore.

Wow, thats a lot of money to lose, hold on to your purse tightly!! It seems that we all carry such a lot of personal stuff in our purses, its mad to think how hard it would be if we lost them.

I also wore a shoulder bag but on the outside and a frightening thing happened one year at christmas time I was shopping in our mall and felt a sharp twinge on my shoulder and looked around. Idid not see anyone suspicious but when we stopped for lunch I looked at my purse and the strap on it had been sliced almost in two by something very sharp and I had a cut in my sweater and a scratch on my arm under the sweater. someone had takena very sharp knife of somekind and tried to cut the strap on my shoulder bag so it would fall I guess but its a wonder they did not cut my arm badly. and i did not see who did it .we were on an escalator and people were pushing and shoving.

Since it is still kinda chilly here in Canada. I put my purse strap under my jacket and over the shoulder. That way if someone wants to steal my purse you are taking me with you. HAHA suckers for sure. I have been lucky to have never lost or had my purse stolen.

if I were to lose my purse right now the LEAST of my worries would be the $60-70 Canadian in it..I'd be more concerned about my bank card and more than that our Passports! Plus my housekeys (not that anyone can find them anyway LOL) and any other I.D I have in there..

Well then I hope that you do not lose it! Do you keep your passports in your purse then? I keep mine in our safe, they never get used so best place for them! House keys are the one thing I do not actually keep in mine, they go in my pockets now, but I do have everything else in my purse I must admit.

I actually HAVE lost my purse/wallet three times in my life. The first was when I was in eighth grade and it had a grand total of $4 in it but that was a lot of money for me then. I was at an amusement park on a school trip and someone actually found it and sent it back to me and the money was still in it. The second time was about 30 years ago when my sister-in-law and I both lost our purses at the same time - I know, that's a bit fishy. This was right before Christmas and I had about $100 that time and never found it to this day. The last time was about 4 years ago when my purse was stolen right from my kitchen. There was only about $16 in it, including a couple two dollar bills I'd been saving for "luck", but it also had all my credit cards, checkbook, license and all that other important stuff. I never found that one either.

I would lose $11.63, my license, social security card, and a few other cards (library, CNA license, CMA license, and CPR license).
More often than not I leave my wallet at home whenever I am just running a quick errand so I don't lose it. I am good about losing wallets, especially if my license is in it.

Yes that would be a pain, I do not have credit cards in mine to worry about , but I do have a few debit cards and that would be a pain, and people can use them online still if they get hold of them.

Oooh I would loose about £40 odd, and a few sheckles. I am not rich at the moment lol and the majority of my money is kept in the bank I only take out what is needed to see me through so in the event of loosing my purse I wouldnt loose too much.

I keep most of mine in the bank too, I just take some out once a week for what I need so I never have a lot, but I would still be mad with myself.

Well, considering pay day is so far away and my credit cards wil probably get declined, and my checks have this big "DO NOT CASH" print on them...I probably will loose just the $2.00 I have in cash. :) Not a big lost if I did indeed loose it... but if I had lost it, It would be nice if the founder could return my pictures, those are priceless!

Yes photos, someone I know lost all her precious photos when her purse was stolen, I only keep one of the kids in there, but its not a hugely precious one so it would be bad if it was lost but not heartbreakingly so. Any robbers would be gutted if they chose your purse to steal they would get nothing!!

I would lose precisely £9.29. Although I also keep all my cards in there so in theory I could lose a whole lot more (except that there is no money in the bank, I don't have an overdraft facility, there is a very low limit on my credit cards and they are already at it!)

That wouldn't be good but I am quite used to being penniless! I've been working extra hard here on mylot to reach the next payout so I am not penniless next month!

Well no one would get their hands on any of your cash then, but if you lost the money that you did have then that would leave you penniless, so that would not be good

I think not carrying too much cash is a very good idea as you never know when something could happen.

I think that the main thing I pick up from this is that people have more personal possessions in their purses than money, or that the personal stuff means a lot more than money, I am the same. But it has set me to thinking that things can happen and how upset I would be should my purse be lost or stolen. I may just take all my personal things out and put them somewhere else.

I would loose around $143 I think. I do not have credit cards here in the United States so I am kind of operating on a daily cash to cash basis. I know it's a little dangerous. I mean, back in the Philippines I would put in my wallet some amount, about near Php 5,000.00. But there it's just okay. Here, it's a little unusual to put in some cash that big as what I have right now.
But I can worry less about my cash than the valuables I have in my wallet. My ID's, the copy of my passport and visa, my previous atm cards (which by the way I am supposed to use back in the event I come back to the Philippines). So I guess, they amount to much more than what the cash I have to loose when my wallet be lost today.

I do the same as you work on a cash to cash basis. Mainly as I do not use credit cards and I am not yet in the habit of using a debit card. Plus it would seem weird not actually having any money in my purse. By the time the bills are paid and the shopping done there is not much left over anyway.
