Around 9 months I believe, times getting a little fuzzy here lol. I just know it kind of sucked because I wasn't expecting him to get into stuff that early! He never really crawled either, just kind of skipped that step.

We expect children to walk the latest at 15 months. Some infants can walk as early as 10 to 12 months with support. But I have read that if your baby does not walk alone by 15 months it has to be investigated. There may be some motor delay. And we also check if there are other delays in other aspect of growth like talking. Thirteen months will still be okay.

my children all started at different ages - the earliest walker was at 8 months and the latest walker was around 16 months. I was concerned about the one that took so long as well, as I have another child that walked independently at about 10 mos of age. My slow walker has been slow in other things too - she was slow to talk (but now she is non stop talking and very talented in expressing herself)

I consider my baby as a late bloomer in terms of walking alone... all her cousins started walking just before they reached their 1 year birthdday... but may baby was just to frightened to walk alone... and she slowly just started doing that when she was like 15 or 16 months old... babies develop their skills differently...i am just so glad that my baby can now run, jump... and do a lot of things on her own...

Both of my boys were walking by 9 months or so. I started early too, but I was big when I was born and Mom always said she was way overdue and I came out half grown. I took my first step in my 6th month and she said it was like I did it to prove I could do it, then got back down and crawled for a couple of weeks. Was fully walking at 7 months. That's definitely an exception and I know most kids start several months later. It seemed to run in my family, though, as I remember my sisters' kids all walking before a year too. Yes, everyone is different and as long as your doctor doesn't think there's a problem, I wouldn't worry about it.

I have 2 kids and my daugheter Joslyn started walking at around 8 months but my son Shamus took a while before he wanted to do anything, so he was about 13-15 months before he decided to take that 1st step! what a fun thing to think about!

my oldest son started about 9 months. then my next son was about a year old. my little lady was a bit slower, maybe about 16 months before she started walking on her own. i say let them crawl around as long as possible. soon as they start walking they start touching sh*t then it's all down hill from there! LOL

Umm let's see...my oldest started the day after her first birthday, my first son waited until about 2 weeks after his birthday, my next daughter was right around 13 months, my second son was about 3 weeks after his birthday, my 3rd son waited until he was 14 months and was still very unsteady and mostly crawled for another month after that, my youngest son started walking 3 weeks before his birthday. My BIL was 18 months so it does happen. My daughter that started at 13 months, did not seem the least bit interested in walking right up until she actually did it. It was kind of funny. We were all so used to her not walking yet that she was clear across the room on her own two feet before we realized what was happening...it was like oh there goes Kate.....wait a minute, oh my gosh she walked! And from there she never went back to crawling.

My son was 14 months old when he started walking alone. You are right, all babies are different and will reach milestones at different times. What is more important is that you see your child making progress. If she is pulling herself up, standing alone, or walking while holding onto furniture, or attempting to do any of these things she is making progress. If it seems that she has not made any progress in a month or so, I would talk to her pediatrician. Otherwise, enjoy it while it lasts, because once she starts, she will be keeping you very busy!

My first child walked at nearly 13 months, my second at 14 months, and my third at nearly 16 months. The one who took the longest to walk is actually the most athletic.

My daughter took her first steps at seven months old. However, one of my nieces didn't start walking until much later. I wouldn't worry too much. They do things at their own pace. Yours will probably start of running and you'll have your hands full trying to keep up. :)

All of my children walked at different times. My oldest daughter started walking by herself at the age of 8 months. My 3rd child started working at 14 months and I thought something was wrong with him because he didn't walk as soon as my daughter. My 2nd daughter started walking at 10 months. And my youngest daughter started walking at 11 months. My youngest son hasn't even started yet because he is only 6 months old, however he loves sitting in his walker going all over the house when I am cleaning. He sits in it while I am doing a few dishes in the kitchen as well.

I think it is not that serious. I remember that my mum told me I started walking alone when I was 13 months old or so. I knew how to speak first. And my mum said if a baby knew how to speak first, it would take the baby longer time to learn walking. My younger sister started walking when she was 12 months old while another at 15months. One of my mother's friend's baby girl did not know how to walk when she's already 15 months old, my mum thought it's strange too. But the baby start walking soon. So do not worry about that too much.
