why is facebook full of useless applications?

I have to agree with you - and actually just started a discussion on the same topic...perhaps I should have read first, LOL!

hello. facebook apps i find them much better than myspace. facebook is a community which allows full control over who can view my profile etc. thats the main reason I use it. Facebook is much better than other communities.

I don't think the applications in Facebook are useless. If people odn't want to use them, don't use them. If something is useless to you, it may be intereting to something else. People are on facebook, mainly to have fun.

I guess it is to show your personality but most of them ARE useless. I usually ignore requests now!

I Guess the idea is that you can show your personality through these applications. I agree with you, I find them annoying and they do just slow down the loading of someone's profile. I have about 3 applications on mine and if I want a new one I tend to rotate them round so I don't clog my profile up with useless information!

I have found that Facebook is much more "fun" compared to myspace. The applications (depending on what type computer you have, and your modem being dial up or cable) don't really take more than 1-2 seconds to download. These applications are just something fun to do, and they can sometimes show your personality by the type of applications you have added. All in all. Facebook is really quite fun. :-)
