Hi dear little Athrun, I had bought a brand new desktop three months back with a cheaper price at a pc fare. Though mine has only 1 Gb ram I am still quite satisfied with it as it got all the features I need. To compare with a laptop, the advantage to have a desktop is that it still could be upgraded further more when needed.

Hello dear Athrun. My laptop is old now, but if I want to buy a new one, I would pay more attention to the same as you would pay attention to, but I am told that vista is not good to use as it cannot help download many things because it is not suitable for all downloading job as well as windows xp. So I think that I will still try to get one with windows xp operation system.

Well. I need a large amount of RAM memory so that I could run all applications smoothly. If I am going to buy it today, I need at least 2GB of RAM. Secondly I would like to have a decent 3D Graphic card. It had been quite a while since last time I got the update about 3D card, but if I am going to buy it today, I am going to go for a medium budget one. So I could play 3D games and enjoy the latest graphic rendering technology. Lastly, I would like a big screen display (21 inch LCD display) and surround sound system (5.1 channel or 7.1 speaker channel). It seems to be luxurious, but it's my requirement when buying a new PC.

Ya. I really hope I can have a decent PC later on to play my favourite 3D game. Besides, heard that GTA4 was launched end of April. But they don't have PC version yet. Hope by the time it's released, I have a good laptop or PC to play it LoL. So far I have been collecting 3D games in my collection. I couldn't play it now, but hope one day when my PC is ready with a powerful 3D card, I can play them.

I look for processor and memory capacity. A good hard drive (at least 120GB nowadays). Make sure the power supply isn't prong based. Decent size but no less than a 14 incher.

One thing I will look at when buying a new laptop will be it weight. I am only small so I cannot carry around a 2kg laptop. But when I do buy a new laptop it will have no less at 1GB RAM and at least an 80GB HDD. The video card doesn't matter an incredible amount, but it would be nice to have a good one for if games were to be played on it. And I would try and run it on Windows XP OS and not Vista. While Vista does look really cool and all it takes up too much on the RAM and slows down the computer too much.

I agree. Windows vista does took away a lot of RAM.

Vista so far so good to me. :) 2G ram, core 2 duo T7250, 15.4 inches, 120G HDD. Although, i have no idea which processor which chipset, sorry, kidda computer idiots. Price is one of the main factor too. :)

It must have a bigger RAM and hard disk. I especially need a bigger hard disk as I am downloading many things via the net and it seems that the hard disk can never meet my needs
