Impulse Buying

Have you ever acted on an impulse that turned out to be a bad idea? My sister and I did that a few weeks ago. (My sister is Flight84 here on myLot.) A new Petco opened up in our area and we were taking a look around. We saw a cage full of these cute little black and white mice. So we had this "great" idea to buy two mice, a black and a white one, and name them Salt and Pepper. So we bought this fancy cage for them with matching accessories. At first they were absolutely precious. Now, we really regret this decision. These mice are little terrors! Both of them are about 3 inches, but for such tiny things they are very noisy. They're mean too. Plus, they get out of their cage and run around the room. If we could take them back, we would, but I guess we're stuck with them. So have you ever done anything dumb like this??

Yeah! One time my sister and I went to PetCo and ...oh wait. ha ha. Sometimes I wonder what we are thinking when we do the things we do. No more impulse buys for us! Well, at least nothing small and furry anyway. I get them for my week tomorrow anyway so they will be out of your hair for awhile.

LOL yeah I think I forgot to mention that we have "joint custody" of the mice. It makes it a lot more bearable to alternate the weeks instead of having them all the time.:D

I'm actually quite limited in buying and spending nowadays. The only thing I can think of at the moment is grocery shopping for a few things. I'll think I don't have a specific item (usually a spice), I'll buy it immediately... get home and I already have the spice on the rack.

LOL well Pro, I don't have a problem with overbuying spices, but I have regretted several purchases. For instance, I'll buy a new shirt or something and I end up not liking it (and of course I've always taken the tags off), and I'm stuck with it! Just like I'm stuck with these mice. (sigh)

"No wai!" Don't want no mice Flight! Cait, be careful with clothing purchases. And what's up with the mice? If its an infestation I hope it can be dealt with quickly.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that your mouse experience isn't going well. My boyfriend and I bought three little boys a couple of weeks ago (a complete impulse, brought on by the boyfriend) and I am loving our new pets. I know they must seem like little terrors right now but if you keep handling them regularly that should get a lot better. I definitely do my fair share of impulse spending. I try to be good about my money habits, but I have a weakness for goodies and bath and beauty products. I try not to indulge my inner junkie too often. I have a particular fondness for Lush, it's dangerous for me to walk in that store!

LOL well my sister and I still are regretting our little purchase. I wish I had the money to spend on other impulses instead of buying dumb things like mice. I would definitely indulge in some new clothes and shoes. :)
