and Love shopping there, or are you one who wished they did not have these, and find them cheap or a waste of time? Personally, I Love WalMart. Problem also is I end up a lot of the time, overspending, and maybe I need to budget myself some more when I am there. We actually have 4 in our close proximity area. 3 of them are just regular sized, and the other one is a Super WalMart. This is the one we prefer the most. We were there just last night. One thing we like there is the prices on Food. A lot of the items are a lot cheaper than the other grocery stores in our area, and their Vegetables and Fruit is some of the freshest you can find as well.
So what are some Great purchases you have made here? Do you recommend your Local WalMart to your family and friends?

I love the deals that can be found at WalMart. The only thing that I don't like is that when I try to go there in the middle of the day there is no parking and it is wall-to-wall shopping carts. To combat that, I've found that going early in the morning (6 am to 8 am) or later in the evening (9 pm to 11 pm) is much easier.
Unfortunately, our WalMart is just a regular one so I can't grocery shop there. But one of the best deals that I found was for my son. It was the Fisher Price Sit-To-Stand Giraffe, normally priced at $26.99 but on clearance there for $9.99. I know there have been tons of other good deals, I just can't remember what they were since there were so many!

Yes, WalMart is a Great place for good deals. We have gotten a lot of good deals from time to time there, and sometimes it was like on limited items as well.

I just went to Walmart today. I get my tires there and get the road hazzard warranty. My tire was really low when I got off work today, so I drove straight there after I put enough air in the tire to get me there. I'm glad that I had the road hazzard on my tires, because I had a nail in it and couldn't repair it, so I got the tire for half price. I got an oil change at the same time, and they asked if I wanted my air filter checked too, I said, they could check it but wanted them to let me know before they changed it, and when they went to ring me up it had the price of the air filter on it. So they deducted the price of the air filter from the total, so I got that free. So that was my experience at Walmart.

Wow!! That is cool, and Great to know. We are needing to get at least one New tire for our Subaru Forrester as we had a nail in it, and it keeps on loosing air even after repairing it. So now you have given me some Great advice here for sure. Yes, I find WalMart is great in many ways like this as well. Thanks for sharing your experience.

A WalMart is not very near me and it has rather a less than "safe" looking clientel, so I dont' go there unless I have to look for a specific thing.
But Target - not that's another story! I have two right close by! I walk in check out the dollar racks (which are right as you walk in) and then make the rounds of the usual clearance racks - I know where they are so I just make the rounds! I find so many things on sale - Just last week, got Pop Tarts for $1.28 a box. I don't care for them but my grand kids like them! Shirts with shorts underneath were half price at $3.00 so I got my one GD a pair for at my house. and holiday themed t-shirts had just marked down about 50% so this week they will be down another 50% - buck or two! So that is what I do..just walk the clearance racks and get what I need. Oh, y eah, last week, Secret roll on deodarant - 3 in a pack for $1.04! Last month it was Soft n Dry Silkie 3 oz size for $2, regularly $3.24. I got 3. WOn't have to buy deodarant for 6 months!

I thought I was one of the only ones who make the clearance rack circuit at Target! My favorite ones are on the end caps of the aisles. I zig zag around the store checking them out. I just got Five Star notebooks for the kids for a little over a dollar! You're getting better deals that I am lately though, are you getting to those racks before me!

Well, I don't know for sure or if it is every store, but I have found that TUesday mornings are when they start the markdowns. So I get there mid morning - 10am and just make the rounds. Dollar rack, Kids clothes, shoes, DVD's, then to the end of the food isles and ten to the end of the toiletries and such. Complete circle with 2 jogs into the middle and my cart is full and my expense is small! I usually check the womens clothes but seldom find anything there.

I love Walmart we don't have one in the town I live in. The closest Walmart is about a 40 minute drive away. I like to go there and do bulk grocery shopping it is so much cheaper to buy groceries at Walmart than anywhere else. They have alot of stuff that is cheaper than anywhere else.

Yes, our Super Walmarts used to be a lot cheaper than other places for Groceries, but lately I find myself having to stop and think on some items, and pick them up elsewhere. But I know I do still do a lot of my grocery shopping there when I can.

I'm not a big shopper and don't like malls and such, for the most part. I'm very frugal and live on a fixed income. WalMart fills most of my needs.
We just had an Aldi's open here so I shop there first because the prices are better, but there are things I need that they don't have, so I fill in the gaps with WalMart.
The produce at my local WalMart isn't that good. I get much better produce and a much lower price at Aldi's.

You can't always find everything you need at Aldi's because they say they will only stock the best at good prices, but it's good enough for me!
I can get a large package of broccoli crowns for .69 and its the best tasting broccoli I've ever eaten, and my husband agrees!
They always have green bell pepper packaged with one or two of the other much pricier colors. I can get a pack of three for $1.29 - they would be at least three times that elsewhere!
Beautiful fresh mushrooms - .99 a package.
Yep, I love my Aldi's!

I love Walmart!Thats my store to find savings at.Like you when I go I seem to over spend.so I make a list before I go of what I need and only take a certain amount of money that I know will cover the cost. That way I know in my head I do have a limit.

This is a good thing to do. I know it sure helps when you try to keep to a certain amount to spend each time, or make a list of what you need, and stick to that each time you go. The Super Stores are the ones that seem to grab you the most and hard to keep from overspending.

I guess I am in the minority, I don't like Walmart and avoid it if I can. One of the reasons is that the employees are exploited from what I gather and they have to partake in the Walmart culture. I don't know if this is still the case in the USA or not but they had to assemble at the beginning of their shift and participate in the Walmart song. I have read that Walmart has closed its stores in Germany mainly because of staff difficulties. Here in Canada Walmart has closed its stores in the province of Quebec because of demands for unionized workers and because the French Canadians did not easily buy into the American corporate values. I have been told that the prices are fantastic but I wonder who is suffering because of these low prices. This is just my humble opinion.

I like Wal Mart and I'm a Wal Mart stockholder because I think it's good business sense, right now, to invest in that company. I shop there at least once a week and wish they had a superstore close enough to my house to go there often.
But, to tell you the truth, if I had more money, I might not shop there as much. I don't find their personnel friendly at all and sometimes downright rude. I don't wonder why they can't get a better job than what they're doing. And, no one there seems to care if you shop there or not. So, if I had more money and could go to a store where they act like they appreciate their customers, I would do so.

We have two super Wal-Marts near us. We shop at the one mainly because the help there is much better. They are friendlier and more helpful. It seems like I'm always there although I know I'm not. They save me a lot of money between groceries and my prescriptions. Their $4 prescriptions has saved me along with just having lower prices on their other ones. Now I also shop Dollar General Market (this is like a super Dollar General) and I go with who ever has the best prices. Wal-Mart though beats out many of the other stores in the area especially compared to Target, K-Mart, and the other groceries stores like Publix, Winn Dixie and Sweet Bay. I can't afford to shop at most of the others. I've been very happy with the products I get at Wal-mart.
The only problem is that they seem to have a time warp around them. I swear I walk in and an hour goes by before I know it That and it's very easy to spend more then I planned because I find such good deals. Oh well like you I probably need to make sure I only allow for so much and that's it.

You know, Wal-mart is not as cheap as they say. If you have an Aldi's food store there really great. To give you an example on 2% milk. Aldi's about is 50 cents less and the milk is better too.
One thing for sure, you don't have to stock up at home, when you have a Wal-mart, your warehouse is near by.

I always used to shop at Wal-Mart but after the horrible experience of a disabled family member that worked there and then reading about the nasty way they have treated other employees - even to the point of suing one who is now severely disabled because of Wal-Mart I will not shop there again - and there are lots of others who feel this way too - I will not shop there again.

I am not a huge fan of Wal-Mart. Although, I agree with you that the prices are low, their customer service is awful and I wasn't too keen about the story I recently heard about them taking money from a brain injured woman. Its just another greedy corporation padding their pockets.

I am not a fan - I think that sometimes cheap prices = low quality. I also believe that many of the employees at Walmart are not happy workers and pass that onto their customers.
I prefer to shop elsewhere

I actually used to work at Wal-Mart up until about a week ago. I don't know why everybody seems to have some vendetta against Wal-Mart. I know they may be a large business, but hello - they BECAME a large business. They started off small like every other business around. Just because they were successful doesn't mean you need to hate them.
Anyways, I enjoyed shopping there. Although my job there was a little repetitive, I still loved my time there, and Wal-Mart actually treats their employees pretty nicely. Granted, sometimes you're stretched very tightly among many different jobs, but it's hard to find a job where that doesn't occur.
I know they used to offer us free cake once a month to celebrate birthdays, a very nice break room, any random leftover food from the deli was free to eat, and all of the Wal-Mart employees would stick together if something bad would happen. I loved it there.

I love Walmart!!
When ours turned into a super walmart, the grocery prices were so much lower than the grocery store, but now they keep raising them, so it is better for me to hit the grocery store where they double my coupons.
I still go to walmart for certain food items, always for shampoo, conditioner, soaps ect.
I love when they have the clearance racks and they are down to $1 an item! I look for this time every year.
I have gotten my kids tons of clothes from Walmart on clearance for $1 an item. Even if they wear it once, it was worth the money.

I forgot to say that I would never buy the meats at WAlmart. They put some kind of perservative in them that makes them look like they are fresher then they really are.
Also, at our Walmart, the fruits and veggies are all over ripe. They never have bananas that aren't already mushy and ready to be put in banana bread.
I always go to our fresh market for fruits and veggies.
And my husband is a butcher, so I get all my meat from him.

I would not say I am a Walmart fanatic, but I do shop there quite often. I live in a rural area and Walmart can be found in any direction from my house. It is the closes place to go to get a lot of clothing and household things. They also have a pretty good price on their food.
