I would like to know if any of you are eagerly looking forward to the new Internet Explorer 8? To be perfectly honest, I've never gotten the hang of IE7. I suppose it will be a requirement that everyone install it on their computer like IE7. I liked IE6 much better. I rarely use IE7 because Mozilla Firefox is very easy for me to understand.

I didn't even know they were releasing a new IE...I guess it was inveitible though. I use IE at work as I'm not sure if I'm allowed to download and install Firefox. But I use Firefox at home as my main browser and IE if the application won't support Firefox. I never liked IE until they brought out version 7 as it didn't have tabbed browsing and that is a major requirement for me as I hate having lots of windows open down the bottom of my screen.

Maybe I'm just stupid, amymelissa, but I've never gotten the hang of the tabbed browsing feature in IE&. It has never worked for me, but Firefox is very easy to navigate.

I have used Opera in the past, progamer, and had some trouble navigating it. It might be time for me to give it another look.

I agree, winterose, that there are just too many problems associated with IE.

I don't use IE worldwise as I find Mozilla much easier to use and it suits me far better! I was a bit wary as I had heard that Vist and Mozilla weren't really that compatible but I haven't had any problems so far! Who knows maybe IE8 will be more like Moxilla? xxx

I only use IE7, mummymo, when the site does not support Firefox. I believe that it might be the most popular browser.

When is this going to be released, do you know? I got the hang of IE7, so I guess I will have to get used to another upgrade..

Mozilla Firefox is also my favorite, weemam. I have tried others, but I always choose Firefox as my #1.

I have IE6 and will leave it alone for now. This is a new computer so I'm better off to not touch anything until I totally understand it. Will give IE8 time to get through their Beta stage and talk to others about it later. I have never used Mozilla Firefox. I need very basic anything on the computer since I don't always understand many of the programs. Thanks for the information.

In my opinion, carolbee, IE6 is the best they have to offer. They should have left it at that. I do find Mozilla Firefox to be every bit as easy as IE6 though. I'm not touching IE8 with a ten-foot pole.

IE8 alpha eats up resources worse than any MS product I have ever seen. I have used it on a machine w/ 4gb of ram and dual 5400+ processors and it slowed down to a point of being slower than my 1gb 2600+ machine right next to it. Will beta be any better? i doubt it. IE looks for specific ways to use any and all available ram. I fear the day IE8 meets Norton...

I don't know too much about the technical issues, bradhart, but I have not been impressed with IE since version 6. It seems they have gone down from there.

IE6 is much better, IE 7 similar as Mozilla Firefox. Some of websites cant viewed through mozilla and require IE ...some of the web cant viewed through IE and require mozilla, for fast surfing i recommend Opera,yet..have mozilla and IE innstalled to as some web may require either mozilla or IE in case to view the website.
*IE 8 Beta released as distribution for?? Is It Vista SP1?

You might have already discovered by now, kmlcrew, that the new IE8 Beta is for XP users also. Seems to me that in order to be fair all sites should support whatever browser the user chooses.
