Sweetuk, why are you pro-organ or tissue donation? Will you donate your organs/tissues?

I have donated blood in the past, I will never donate organs nor tissue. I do not believe in it.

I always donate my time and skills. I do not believe in tissue nor organ transplant. In the past I have refused a blood transfusion, and I'm glad I did. I have also refused cervical spine transplant for my own body. I would never accept another person's tissues or cells to be transplanted nor transfused into my body.

What about helping people have a better life while you are living? How do you donate your time and skills? Giving tissue to another doesn't mean they will have a high quality life, nor even guarantee the person is a good person who contributes to uplifting well being. I understand your need to contribute, please volunteer your skills, time, and caring to help others less fortunate, while you live.

I have donated blood and if a close relative needed a kidney or something I would probably donate one for them.

i would donate organs, blood, tissue, anything i could really. my older brother has had to have 3 kidney transplants, 2 were from my father and older sister, then my grandmother had a heart transplant...so i know how important it is

I am a blood donor and it is marked on my license to be an organ donor. However, my partner disagrees with it being on my license. He seems to think that if I have the organ donor marked, they would be less likely to help save me.

I'd really like to donate blood but am not allowed to as I had a brain haemorrage a few years ago. Not sure what the connection is really. I try to enlist one friend a year and have so far persuaded seven friends to give blood regularly.
