i tried once when a close friend of mine needs it very badly. Unfortunately, we don't have same type. I am very willing to donate, it will not just save life or help people but at the same time its healthy for us for some reason!

i am very much willing to give my blood. as long as they think i am healthy to give mine, that isnt a bother at all.
i am a bit scared, yes of reiving blood. i saw in one true to life story that one lady was given a contaminated blood positive fo the hiv... it turned out that they signed a waiver and the hospital, due to emergency has not yet check and verified if the blood is indeed clean.

I received blood during a surgery I had when I was a kid. I didn't even know that I received any until I was older and my mom mentioned it to me. I was thankful after I knew about it. I conquered my fear of giving blood and did it a few times until I got someone who really didn't know what they were doing. It took 45 min., it hurt and I was so light headed afterwards, that I never went back to donate again. I feel like I should, but I am scared again.

I would have no problem giving blood but i have a fear of needles so have not yet been brave enough to do it. I know that my partner has given blood many times and tells me that there is nothing to worry about. Hoping to get up the courage to do it soon. I would not have a problem in recieving blood espically if it was going to save my life.

I donate blood every 12 weeks (well.. I've donated once, but plan to again on the 20th of May, as it's the law in Australia to have 12 weeks between donations).
It's a nice feeling knowing that I'm doing my part to help or save another person, and I am more than happy to donate blood, and I would definitely accept it if I was in a position where I needed it.
Blood is blood, as long as it is the right type, I wouldn't mind if it originally belonged to someone else.

I am very grateful to those who donate blood. 3 years ago I was admitted into the hospital for a 2 week stint. I had an infected cyst in my kidney and was septic - means the infection was in my blood stream. Severely dehydrated, I could barely walk. I only vaguely remember my first week in the hospital. I do know however, that they gave me a blood transfusion that first day, that's how bad the infection was.
My husband used to donate regularly and the donation place loved it because he has the type that can be used for anyone. Unfortunately he can't donate any longer because he is on blood thinner ever since he got a clot in his lung a year ago.
I used to try to donate blood but was always borderline on iron. I only got to donate twice out of the several times I tried. Now I can't donate because there is a risk of my cysts bursting.
