my daughter is so funny. she is 4 and one day in the car she says, do you think i'll have a baby when i grow up. so i said yes thinking that's what she wanted to hear. she starts whinning and almost crying saying but i don't want one.
then yesterday she said it again. she says, when i grow up i'm going to get married but i don't want a baby. it's funny, usually little girls like to immitate their mothers and take care of babies but she wants nothing to do with it.

Aww your daughter is cute! I think what scares her about having her own baby is that she thinks she's too small to carry a baby on her own. When I was still pregnant with my youngest child, I would often tell my eldest daughter that she would be taking care of the new baby. She would always tell me that she can't carry a baby yet, and that she might just drop the baby. The idea of carrying the baby really scared her a lot. But when the baby was born, it only took a few months before she was already asking me to let her hold the baby on her own arms while she sat on the couch.

That is funny, especially when it comes from a 4 year old. Wonder why she feels that way? I have a couple of funny stories coming from kids. One is a friend of mine was teaching his son how to use the toilet and he saw his daddys privates even though he was trying to be discreat but you know how kids are, they'll try their best and sometimes win in getting what they want and he bent as far as he could to see what "daddy" was doing and he asks "is mine going to grow that big?" His daddy trying to keep a straight face says "yes some day it will" and his son got all upset and screams "NOOOOO! I don't want mine to grow that big!!!" lol Can you imagine?! lol
The other story is about my brother and my nephew, same senario, except my nephew looks up at his daddy and says "Wow daddy! Yours is bigger than mine!" lol He's all grown now married with three boys of his own so I'll have to remind him of his day and let him know that I want to hear about his turn when he starts teaching his oldest son who's 3 now, I think.

My daughter is the exact opposite. She says she wants 4 babies. All girls. Give your daughter time she may change her mind.

That is funny, LOL. I was like that too when I was little. I always said I didn't want to have kids either. I was such a little tomboy. I didn't want to have any kids at all but I also wanted to get married. I am now married and have a 16 year old daughter, LOL. It is so cute that she is that young and thinks like that also.

that may not be a bad thing in todays world. i think she will change her mind when she gets older. when i was little i said i wasn't having any kids and then as i got older and thoughts of moving out on my own came about i decided i wanted at least 3 and now i have 3 and am not sure if we are going to have another one or not. i was more of a tom boy when i was little to but not as much as i got older.

Haha your daughter is funny indeed. I'm sure she'll change her mind later on when she grows up and gets married. She'll feel like something is missing. I think all women have a maternal instinct.

haha thats so funny kids are crazy they come up with the funniest things. my little sister is six and shes obsessed with babies and always tells her teacher her moms going to have a baby and brings home books from library called a babies coming to my house and stuff like that. but i know when i was little, like up to the age 14 i never wanted kids and now i can't wait to get married and have a baby so i don't think it matters what they think when they're little. ha

I am conflicted when it comes to wanting a child. In a way, I do want a children, but then I think to myself "I am fit to have children? Should I really be a mother?" I do not know for sure if I will ever have children.

it is kind of weird that at her young age that she is so very headstrong about this. My guess is t hat she really really doesnt want kids and just knows this. You know you always hear about kids knowing from a young age that they wanted to be a doctor or whatever. maybe this is the same....she just does not want to be a mom.
