How you feel when People say they are BUSY, even if they are not...

Well, if I was asking for a favor or something, I would probably feel upset. I guess there are some people who say they're busy even when they're not so busy. Or maybe whatever they're doing makes them consider themselves busy, but for us, it's not so busy.

hey all~ wow a great question...when someone, especially someone i consider a friend, claims to be busy when its so blatantly obvious they aren't, i'm no less then offended.... if they use this excuse for a reason not to hangout or visit (i'm disabled, so its more often to visit) then i reply in a mix of satire and sarcasim something along the lines of 'what and i'm not' (i DO do a lot online and and help people whenever and however i can) or 'yea busy just like everyone else' 'or 'people tend to make time for what matteres to them' i know its maybe not the politest way but hey....sometimes i think thats what it takes ~j

if they say they are busy and arent I find others that arent s o busy!

The word busy is commonly used of some person just to be EXCUSE of certain activities or invitations thay they don't have interest to go with or to meet with. Or maybe they are just really busy doing other stuff whether if it's a job or other activities aside work... Actually you can't avoid sometimes to feel that they just rejected you or not interested to be with you. It's hurt especially if you need some companion.So, i feel bad sometimes if you found out that they are not really....busy.

In the UK there is a saying 'if you want something done ask a busy person' this means they are someone that does things rather than procrastinate. Someone who uses the excuse tha they are too busy probably has too much time on their hands which is why they say they are so I can understand your upset. Ellie :D

I don't feel hurt ,when some one say they are busy and don't have time to do things with me,even if they are not busy.I thought it was a euphemistic saying that they don't want to do something (for instance ,they are tired and want a rest or something else).so don't upset and relax and think other things.

I don't mind sometimes. I will do that myself occassionally although if I say I am busy, I usually am or at least will be. I have a friend who I have to tell I am busy because otherwise she would expect me to just jump every time she wanted. Other than that, it is upsetting if someone is ALWAYS claiming to be busy when you have asked them to do something, especially if you know perfectly well that their idea of busy is that they are socialising with other friends.

I don't have friends like that, if they do not have any time for me they are not my friends, and I don't bother with them at all.

Maybe they are just lazy and satisfied with what they are doing, and they are used to it, and do not want other people to interrupt their pace of life.

I will also feel not well if my good friends reject me.if i have something want to get help,i want my friends will listen to me carefully and help me.If they are busy,maybe i will feel sad at one blow,but i will recover at once.I know they really busy and i must consider them because i am his or her real friend.but i think if you say help for your friends and they make excuses or cheat you,i think she/he is not my friend.i will not treat them as my friend.and when they have difficult or ask me i will reject them directly not finding excuses. When it comes to me i really don't like the feel of being cheated.i can understand they have something more important to do,but can recieve they cheat me they are busy.Don't be sad for that friend.

Well i just let karma do its own work for that i dont want to judge when it comes to that point. Because honestly if they lie about one thing like saying im busy but they are really not what other things should be they hiding from you.. Someone you cant rely on.. so what for.

If I had asked someone to do something with me, like go shopping or come for a coffee and they said they could not because they were busy but then I saw them sitting having coffee with another friend, then yes it would upset me. I would be really hurt by that.

That would definitely make me feel upset and think negative, maybe they don't want to go along with me or i am bored to be with. Knowing my personality i would take a break and even put space between us and never ask him or her again.That was just a normal reaction because i was hurt. Afterwards everything will go back to normal and i can think better because no hurt feelings involve. I can even think of a better things and turn it into positive results.

Hun..seems you need to get better friends cause this will eat you up worrying over them...I say go find you some new ones and have fun fun fun! You need positive people in your life that care for you and have time just for you. You can be my friend if you want!

Well its actually an art for survival, you have to learn how to say you are ‘busy’ even when you are not, otherwise people will just walk all over you. When you are approached for something which you don’t like or don’t want to do, there are two options open to you – either say ‘NO’ directly and sound very rude or say and look ‘busy’ and maintain peace. I choose the second option coz I am not very good at saying NO but I don’t want to do everything for everybody everytime, even if they are friends. for example I am alone at home and for some reason I don’t want to see anybody and a dear friend calls up and wants to come. Now I just want to be left alone and this friend is persisting, maybe she is worried about me, she wants to know if something is wrong with me. in such a situation, if I go on saying NO, she will misunderstand me, so I have to say I am busy and she will believe me.

maybe they just dont want to talk to you..or they dont feel like talking. what will i feel? of course, ill be sad..but..thats their choice..cant do anything.

I fill that they think that i am idiot! I prefer to tell me that today they do not want to go out with me... I want to know what people think about me but i only take serius their opinion when i trust them!

When people say they are busy,I seldom believe in them. I tell myself there could be 2 interpretions.1.He's really busy with work,2.He just doesn't want to see me now. No matter they are really busy or not,I feel ok if they say so since people do need their private time. So,for me,I am ok if people say they are busy even if they are not!

I think they are finding excuse for themselves sometimes,maybe it's just a reason,actually even sometimes they themselves don't know what they are busy doing And I don't think I am willing to make friends with those people,I always feel that they don't want to be responsible for their work. But in other perspect,maybe they really have some secrect which they can't say out,so you need not to feel hurt,just learn to tell who need to make friends with.
