Do You Enjoy Your Job? I Love Mine!

Tonight I finished my last shift until the 21st of April and I will be paid for the whole time I have off. We have three shut down periods a year and they co-incide with the school holidays which is ideal for me. We have time off over Christams through to New Year, now, even though I had to work through Easter and four weeks during the summer. I do not work for a school which is the usual job for these types of breaks. This is amazing for me really and looking forward to spending some quality time with my small son. I love the people I work with and the people I meet through my work, it is very hard sometimes and I don't get chance sometimes even for a cup of tea as we are busy but feel happy in my work. My salary isn't fantastic but fair. Do you like your job or do you just do it because you have to to earn a living? Please share. Ellie :D

Oh that is a shame that you don't like yours but try to look at is as a temporary situation until you do get accepted for another position that you will enjoy. Understand the need to stay there to earn a living. Ellie :D

oh yes... i do enjoy my job even though the pay is not very high... but it is sufficient to support my living... i love the environment and the people i work with... i love my manager... they are all great people... and i always thank God every day for giving me such a blessing job... i try to apply for another position within the company (higher position) and i will have the interview next week... my boss really encouraged me to do it as she wants me to move up in my career as i had already with this company for almost 3 and a half years now...

Yeah. I enjoy helping people at my job. I enjoy my great co-workers a lot. So during my seven years at Glens Falls Hospital, it has been lots of major changes affecting my abilities overall. I am always there to learn new stuff that has to do with everyday major events.

I only did my internship in a psychiatric hospital and that was the only job that I really liked, and that was only for one year. I did not really like any other job before it or after it.

I am not sure why I press send before I finish writing. I am doing photography and financial consulting. Way too much. But freedom cost a lot. It means that I have to work 24/7....

LOL I'm always pressing submit before time and then realise a speling mistake or typing error, I even managed to post one response twice somehow. Yes the main disadvantage with being self-employed is no holiday pay and having to work 24/7 but the advantages are that you can schedule around other things that you would like to do and take time out if you need too for appointments for dentists and doctors without having to ask anyones permission other than your own and the satisfaction that you alone have achieved what you have done. I just started back to work about 8 months ago after quitting my last job 3 years ago to stay home with my daughter. I am a preschool teacher and I love every minute of it. I wasn't looking for a job but a friend of mine told me about the opening at the school where she worked. I went in to check it out and they hired me on the spot. I only work 3 hrs a day in the afternoons but they have asked me to start working in September full time. I'm so excited and my daughter will also be attending school there. This is the perfect job for me and I couldn't imagine doing anything else right now. Plus the pay is good and we get tons of vacations!!

How wonderful for you and to be working in the same school as your daughter with all the holidays off to spend with her. That really is a fantastic job to have. This was the sort of opening I was originally looking for and took the one I have now to begin with purely because their shut down periods are the same as the school holidays. What more could a mum want eh! Thank you for sharing, much appreciated. My little one starts full time in September too, don't they grow quickly bless. Ellie :D

i really do not enjoy my job.. i do it because i have to, i do it because that is where i earn a living... i have come to accept the reality that sometimes we do not really get what we want in life.. this also goes for the jobs and tasks we handle... i have not given up searching for what will make me happy - the kind of work that i think is best for me... i sure hope to be able to find my way around...

I can relate to what you are saying as I have had many jobs that I have done even though not liked because that was all that was available at the time and needed to earn to live, but I held on to hope and now in my forties I am in a job I love with people I like and I look forward to going rather than dread the day ahead so hopefully you will be able to experience this too. Just keep searching and eventually you will find. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D

I have always loved all of the jobs that i have ever had. It was the people who drove me nuts and made me eventually quit. I now work at home and I love it, even though I make alot less money. The stress level is alot better now, even though money is kind of tight.

Yes some people can make working somewhere you love very difficult. Even where I am now there was one girl recently that was more interested in chatting and smoking than working and it meant we all had to do extra but she is no longer there. Glad you are now enjoying working from home. Ellie :D

I do like my job as I am in customer service and love meeting all the people I get to meet. I however love my "career" as a writer and author and love traveling around for about six months a year going to different festivals etc....so I am very lucky!

For me my job sucks. It arrive to a point that it is quite boring. No fun and adventure to it. I work as a laboratory scientist or a medical technology in other term. I have a redundunt job everyday.

Hello ELlie, Well i love mine as well. It is a very easy and rewarding job. I work in the gaming industry. In my opinion it does not get any better than my job. I get to help create a game and then beta test it. It is a fairly simple job that was a little hard in the beggining but by the first month i was fine. I completely love my job. It sounds like you love yours as much as i love mine though.
