When Responding To Posts Here

do you have favorite interests that you like to go to and respond too, or are you just interested in responding to what your friends have started, and not interested in the Interests area? I know if you are like me, you will notice each time you respond back to a post here, you will see a ranking. Like for me, in myLot for example, I am now #25 in the top of all the people who have included myLot as an interest. On some of the others, I know I am number 1, or used to be, which I think is pretty cool as well. But I have noticed like when I choose to keep busier in one topic area of discussion over another, more people will start to trust me, and rate me more positive on there, and then my rating keeps on tending to improve usually which is Good. So is there a favorite of yours, and do you see an increase on the positive side for you by sticking more to one interest or two? Are you Happy with where you're placed as well?

My mylot experience usually consists of this: I log on and check discussions that my friedns have started, I rely on them a lot for things to talk about. Then I move on to discussions that I have started, will check discussions with no responses, and then finally I'll go to my interests to see if there anything that I feel like commenting on. I may look at new user discussions also to help them out a bit, and of course will post my own new topics if something crosses my mind. As far as where I am ranked, that really doesnt play into the equation for me. It's interesting to see, but isn't a reason for me to post, or not post on any given discussion, or topic.

Except for tonight, I don't pay much attention to my ratings. Its cool to see that I am ranked near the top of thousands of people, but its not a priority. Most of my posts come from the notifications I get from friends in my e-mail. So I don't know where a discussion is posted until I get finished with the post.

My routine if you can call it that is to respond to those friends discussions where I have the notification turned on. I do not have it "on" for all my friends though and have a tendency to only do those where we have some sort of common interest. So those are the first I generally make a response to and then I check my other friends and see if they have any discussions that I feel I can add to or make an appropriate response. I will also read the comments that have been made to my responses and if I think it warranted, then I will make a counter-comment. At the same time I have 2 windows open and in the second window I am checking out today's top or maybe even those with no response. Like now, I might check topics started by someone where I have just tresponded to another of their discussions and if anything interests me, I also respond to that discussion. Because of my work as an interstate truck driver as well as having a small organic farm I might not be able to get to myLot sometimes. For that reason I do not start any discussions right now because I might not be able to get back to the discussion to read and comment on the responses. Sometimes I can get online and other times it is not possible or if I do there is no time for myLot. Now my partner is checking me emails and saving to word the email notifications I receive. When I get home one of us will transfer them to my poor old laptop which gives me the chance to type out a response when I am on a rest break. Then all I have to do when I get online to myLot is a copy and paste entry of my response. We are trialling that option at the present time and shall see how it goes. Actually I have a tendency to not take a lot of notice of the interests because there are so many. Also I believe there are a lot of the discussions which are shown under one interest when they really belong elsewhere. That is my opinion anyway for what it is worth.

Lately I will stick to friends started discussions, if I find nothing there I will go to no answers or new user to encourage them to mylot. My rating went from 92 or 93 to 79 and now it is going back up, it went down because I started a discussion that people didn't like.

I usually just respond to the discussions that come in my inbox, but for the last several days I have been just going to the home page and responding to discussions that pop up. I don't answer in any particular interest. Though I have noticed I am rank 17 here in MyLot which is pretty good to me in my opinion, especially with how many people have this listed as an interest.

As far as Mylotting is concerned, this is what I do. First, I check on the discussions I've started, then go to my discussions my friends started, then discussions from my interest. After that, I would browse into the other topics to see if there are other interesting discussions I can respond. Afterwards, I'll post some new discussions and lastly, take a look at my earnings. I don't take too much attention on the rankings. I just post any topic that comes into my mind or respond to a discussion that is interesting to me. I'm happy with mylot experience and it makes me happier if I get many responses in my discussions.

Usually when I reply to posts here I will start with the discussions that my friends have started. When I am done with those, then I go on to discussions from my interests. Between those two and responding to replies to discussions I've started, that keeps me pretty busy. I know my ratings are higher in some topics than others, but I don't really post more in one interest than another. If there is an interesting discussion, or I feel like I have something to contribute to a discussion, then I will just hit reply and post.
