When we visit others, sometimes they will be kind and offer their photo album for you. How do you feel about it? Some people may not be interested in it and feel bored. I found it's very interesting anyway. At least they looked different in the past and sometimes it's hard to recognize them.

Depending on the photos, I wouldn't mind looking if the person is willing to share it with me.
Most times, I would look thru them. Cos it gives me a glimpse of what the person is like in the past. What makes him or her the way he or she is today.
Also, if the era is totally different from mine, it would be a way to see what they do, where they go or how they dress in the times gone by.
Also, it is also a welcome break from having to talk all the time. A picture tells a thousand words. One question on each picture and you would be able to spend a wonderful time together reminiscing about the past.

Nah... I am really really REALLY new to the photography arena.
If a person is willing to share their photos, I would be happy to view them. Like I said, it is a chance for me to take a glimpse of what they were that led them to what they are today.

I find it interesting. I have lots of albums myself....but I don't offer it to anyone to see unless they ask. I know that some people are not interested in looking at our photos.
But I honestly enjoying going through a friend's album when I visit.

Hello youless!:-)
If someone wishes to show their album, I don't usually refuse to see out of respect for their wish. Otherwise, I am not quite eager to see and don't ask people for their album unless they are my family and friends, off-line or online. I too find it interesting to see what changes have happened in the looks and appearances of my kind hosts.
I feel really happy when I see their moments of rejoice, smiling and having a good family and friend's time.

I enjoy looking at other people's photo album. But i only look at it with consent. I am interested with the stories of each photos too. I know that each photo was kept because it has a memorable story. Take care =)

I enjoy it too...to an extent. I have seen people drag out a ton of pics of people I don't know and are pretty much the same over and over. That can be a bit boring, lol. I loved looking at my mother in laws photo albums when we visited her. She had so many old pics. She was from Japan and everything was so beautiful, esp her wedding pics.

I think it is usually quite interesting to see a friend's photo collection and talk about past times. I especially enjoy seeing photo albums of people's traveling. I know that my own travel photos are very special and mean a great deal to me. I am hoping to see my friend's Around the World photos. Then I will be able to compare our two different trips. It is funny to see a friend's photo when they were a baby or a toddler. Often the friend looks so different, especially if they had blond hair then and now they have brown hair.

I love looking at other peoples scrapbooks and photo albums...that's how you really get to know them and understand their life! Sharing the experinces that they have will also give you alot more to talk about...and if it's family that is even more fun to see photos of children, grandchildren or trips!

I think it depends on the people and how many photos there are. I love to show pictures to people but really I think just a few is all you need to show. I used to be one of those people who brought out the crate of photos to show people like they cared. LOL Honestly I like to see a few but not a zillion of pictures of people I don't know. So now I try to keep that in mind.

I'm one of the people who feels awkward to look at other people's photo albums. Usually when we visit other person's home, we are offered photo albums af the family. I just browse through it as fast as I can without raising suspicion that I'm not paying attention. lol. It would be okay if they're the pictures of the person I know, but most of the time, they're also pictures of the family, including distant relatives and family occasions. It just feel like snooping around in their private lives.
We never offer photo albums here in our house because of this. My parents, siblings and I all feel the same way. Actually, we never had a family album. We just keep one for ourselves, like a scrapbook. The rest of the pictures are stored in a big box where we enjoy to dig up from time to time during some family occasion.

I actually do not go to people albums that often. Alot of times I do it every blue moon. So you really will not find me that amuse about some of the photos. Now don't get me wrong some of these photos they are pretty interesting. But usually I am on here just chatting up with people.

I find it interesting as I can have a look at those interesting photos of others. The place they have been to or how their kids behaviour when they are younger. I'm glad that they share their photos and their precious moments when they explain to you what had happened and when those photos are taken.

You are right. Some of my friends like to show me their photo alums when I visit them. They are very happy and telling stories about the photos. The young moms like to show the photos of their lovely kids or babies whereas friends who are fond of travel like to share the photos of the beautiful landscapes and places they had visited. It is really interesting to watch the photos and I could learn more about my friends from the photos.

I find it amazing how some people actually keep a photo album anymore. Everything is digital now and hardly anyone prints off a picture to put in an album. I love looking at photo albums. Even if you do not know the story behind the photo you can come up with one of your own to fit.

To be honest, I find myself mostly pretending to be interested and try to come up with something nice to say. Actually I am more into real photography, but for other's daily life pictures, I am not all that interested. So to be polite, I always need to think of something to ask or say when I am looking through other people's album, and indeed, I find that quite a hassle!

Great to be in a discussion of my friend Jing... But it is not so great for me to have a look at the photo album, because it mostly ignites my dying griefs of the past, that have some how settled down.
Trodding back to the history will be a rubbing salt on the wound for me. And certainly, this is a situation peculiar to me, and not for all..
