The best thing I have done for myself this year so far is to have cut down dramatically on the amount I smoke. Last year I cut down to 10 a day and so far this year I have gone down to smoking maybe 10 a week! I don't even smoke every day now and for me that is a great achievement as I'd been smoking 20 a day for at least 15 years and had only cut down in the last couple of years. I don't want to say I'm quitting because that would stress me out and make me smoke more (yes, I know, I have very poor willpower) but by me saying I've cut down and not thinking that I'm trying to quit, I've managed to get to a stage where I'm going 2, 3 or 4 days without smoking now and not feeling stressed about it. This is one of the best things I've done for myself, well for my health anyway, in recent years and I'm proud of that...

The best thing I have done is to get a job and get my permit for driving. I had a job..I was a stay at home mom for the last 7 years but I needed a change. I went and got a job outside of home and I am much happier. I guess because I get to get out of the house more. I also went and got my Permit. Im 25 and just got it. I never needed it before now. Now that I have a job I need to rely on my self to get there. I cant keep asking people to help me out. It becomes a burden to them. Once in a while is fine but not all the time. ~May The Kisses Of An Angel Cover And Protect You Always~ Copper

I really haven't had time to do much for myself this year yet. I work seven days a week. I started to exercise this year but have not made time for it recently. I am going to start making time for it again though so I can take care of myself better.

I haven't really bought any expensive things for myself this year (yet). Come to think of it, I have been buying myself different types of books and movies that I have been wanting to read and watch. And I have been actually spending time at home, reading and watching those new buys. I think I have gained something every time and it's making me feel great.

yes!doing something for yourself does not have to be in terms of clothing or anything expensive, all you really need is to make sure you do something to make yourself happy.am sure you have gained some things from the books you have read and also you have been able to relax watching those movies .that is good enough if you ask me

I have done two good things so far, this year. 1. I have completed the writing of a book (in Kannada) 'education in Emerging India' and it is published a month ago.It is useful for those who takethe Bachelor degerr course in Education. English version of the book is under preparation. 2.I am settling my financial problems one by one. I am preparing for a secured, peaceful retired life .

Sometimes we tend to forgot to reward our ownself or even acknowledge to thyself - 'I did a great job" because we are overwhelmed by works and other priorities in our life. But wait a minute, if only your body can talk then will say - I NEED A BREAK! With this realization, I start to give thanks and treat myself - like having body spa relaxation therapy and out of town vacation with my family...What we give to ourselves will likewise generate a positive outlook in our life...but don't over pamper or spoil yourself -- are you?

thanks so much for this wonderful and useful contribution, while trying to make ourselves feel good we need to understand that we should only do it within the limits of our ability and not over do it

i think the best thing that i had done this year is renewing my commitment in serving my God more faithfully and getting my contract in my workplace renewed to full-time... i feel very happy and excited about it...

So far this year I started learning how to play the piano. I started with my children piano lessons. It's simple enough to play some simple tune at first but on the the second lessons it's getting harder and I think, it will get harder for the next lessons. My finger is not as nimble as they were years ago and it's really advantageous to learn this stuff when you were younger. Hopefully by the end of the year I can play some simple tunes.
