As I've learned from my psyclogy professors in college, reward system is a good way of teaching your kids of proper behavior and attitudes because you are giving them positive reinforcement for something they have done correctly or have accomplished.
Now, I am trying this at home, being a mom of two who are both in the stage of preschool. I believe it is effective. Why? for reasons that I'll be able to make them follow what I wanted them to do such as going to the mall if they behave the whole day or cleaned up their toys.
Even simple things like "You want juice? Ok. I'll give you one but after you're done eating your meal."
But rewards can also be in the form of non-material things such as hugging your kids after reciting their first nursery rhyme or uttering "Very Good" when they have done something commendable. In this way, your child would feel love and affection for doing good things or any accomplishments. Likewise, they would always look for repeating these proper behavior so they could also receive the same rewards from the parents.

It is absolutely correct we have to appreciate, encourage them for their good manners, behaviour, education. some times we have to take them for a picnic places where they love to go. we should not beat them in any way, we should explain in different ways.

Sometimes if you give a certain rewards is effective to motivate people. In companies, they used to have incentives, bonuses, and other benefits. These are the most expected rewards for working hard. The same principle with children, aiming to have good grades.

I think the reward system is a very good tool. My daughter is potty training at the moment, and when she does her business in the potty she gets a special sticker to put on her chart. She gets so excited when she does it, and she gets alot of verbal praise and cuddles, but she loves being able to get the sticker.

Rewarding system have always worked for me too not just at home but also with the kids with whom I work with. I reward them with stars and we have a small chart to fillup. Once the chart is filled up then they get a small reward. We fill the chart with both gold and silver stars. Depending upon the number of gold stars the gift will vary.
Today for the very first time, my son went to a summer class. I have sent him to that class to make him get a feeling of school as he is starting his regular schooling by this June. He didnot cry at all and he have drawn a sun. I have rewarded him with two stars in his chart and he is very happy with that.
Yesterday we had our Ice cream treat in our class as the class did a cleaning job of the entire class room and the ground area around of course with the help of adult teachers.
Always rewards help. Not just for kids but also for adults.
