My hubby and I are currently addicted to the train-wreck of a reality show -Rock of Love with Bret Michaels from Poison fame. It shows the rocker on his quest for his "Rock of Love" amongst a houseful of wanna-be groupies. While we enjoy the show, I can't imagine the ways that the contestants allow themselves to be used and humiliated on the shows -why do they do it? So here are my questions: How far is too far? What would you do, eat, or reveal to win money? Do you think some of the shows go too far?

I think that some shows do go to far but these are people that really need the money. These are people that don't care what other people think about them. I know I wouldn't have the courage or guts to go on a show and do the half the things that these people are doing. I wouldn't even join one of these shows at all. Well except for game shows because those don't go to extremes.

I've like most reality tv shows for a long time have watches survivor, and the amazing race since the beginning. I watched the rock of love also both of them. I'm the same way u r I can't imagine doing the things that they do for love or money. I think reality tv has gone way to far even animal planet is part of it now. There really are such few good shows to watch.
There's not enough money in the world to have me on any reality tv show to me it's just not worth the price u pay.

Reality tv are sometimes so over with what they do..On shows that they have to eat insects and other gross stuffs that is so not good. I would never it anything alive..It is so gross..not even the insides of animals...way totally gross. I also hate it when people put you down because you can't sing or something..I feel they are so rude. i wish they could do something more nicer and not gross and rude.

There's one show (it's more like a game show I guess)that my husband and I occasionally watch, just because there's nothing better on, and we usually sit and complain about it the whole time. I don't even know what it's called. There's one contestant who sits there and is asked all these extremely personal questions, and if he/she can get through all the questions passing the lie detector test, then they win a million dollars or something. But they're asked questions like, "do you have any secrets that you know would ruin your marriage?" or "Have you ever fantasized about any of your spouse's friends?" And their spouse is sitting right there! It's so ridiculous. But I guess they know beforehand all the possible questions they'll be asked and yet they still put themselves through all that. Anyways, it's crazy. Yet I still watch it!! It's kind of like the Bachelor, I hated that show for so many reasons, yet I couldn't stop myself from watching it! What's up with that? (Sorry this response is so long...)

Yes, my hubby and I watch the Rock of Love show too. we just watched it last night. Thats about the only one we watch, we used to watch survivor, but not anymore. We have watched Flavor Flav also, when he had New York, and I can't believe some of the stuff she did on the show. I think some of them are on there just cause they wanna be on TV, some are there for the money, but I don't how much they get. Its hard to say if their really there for love, becauae how many rock of love shows are there now? None of thems worked out for him.

Yes, I think some shows go way too far and I won't watch them for that reason. I hate to see people demean themselves that way. There are some great reality shows out there, like Survivor, The Amazing Race, Extreme Makeover:Home Edition. Ghost Hunters, Haunting Evidence, and Oprah's Big Give (though I don't really like the competitiveness of that one.) But shows like Wife Swap, The Newlyweds, Big Brother, and a lot of the others are just exploitative and show people at their very worse.

I will not watch any reality show, unless it is the reality show "Who Wants To Be A Superhero?" on the Sci-Fi Channel. I think that most all reality shows out there are garbage today. Also, "Who Wants To Be A Superhero?" on Sci-Fi is the only one that I will be on because it is the only one where I get to go around in a costume all of the time.

Well I assume that they know what all will happen on this show since they are screened before they are ever picked. Also the train wreck of a show has been very disappointing for him to keep the one's he has kept. You have the plastic Barbie that has to much collagen in her lips that is totally clueless. Then you have the groupie chick Destiny that only wants to be around because she loves rock bands, then Ambre, who lied about her age and back stabs everyone on the show (throwing them under the bus which she claims she doesn't do often). I highly doubt this will be the last Rock of Love because he is not going to find love with these 3 weirdos.
So since they know pretty much what is going to happen then I don't think it's to far. I definatly wouldn't go on any Reality show to eat or do anything against my own beliefs so that would be nothing.
The only show that I have seen that has taken it to far was Flavor of Love where he had the twins in the hot tub with him. Incest is disgusting and I haven't watched an episode since then.

Hi Kellys3ps
I don't watch that show, but I know my daughter does and she tells me about the things they do..its all about ratings and they make sure it has ones that people will tune to watch and complain about or love.
I couldn't go on these shows cause I would be to old, but for the money if it was guanteed i would win, I'd be there LOL.
