I hate when people ask me how old I am! I get carded to buy ciggerettes I get carded to buy liqour. Even when I go to the store I get weird looks and then people ask me aww their so cute how old then give me a dirty look! I was even told by my moms friend (who hasnt seen me inforever) that I only looked 16 and thought my 2 daughters were MY MOMS 2 children. I know I'm only 22 but come on now. Do I really look 16? Its my biggest Peeve. I have one picture on my profile of me and my 3 children. Does anyone else have this problem or get weird or rude remarks, comments or looks from the elders?

but yeah i get annoyed. funny thing with me is its not the older people i get the looks from. its people my age... i really dont care much. they can think what they want.

I understand that completely. I dont really give a rats tail what people think about me. I live my life how I need and want. But it just bugs me how many people can be so rude.

Dont get me wrong I love looking younger than I really am. The problem I have is I know I had my oldest child at a young age (17) and now at 22 I have 3. I just cant stand the nasty looks I get. I hate how people assume that just because your young your a horriable mother!

I am 35 and I still get carded myself. It use to make me mad but not anymore. I even got told my card was a fake one time. So don't feel to bad. I understand how you feel though I use to get really upset about this myself also even in my late 20s.

Looking younger can work for or against you. I have been mistaken as a 13-yr-old, but it doesn't really bother me. I'd rather look younger than really older than my age. I am 25 and people still mistake me as a teen.

I got ID'd the other day to buy a 2$ scratch tickett. Becuase I didn't have my ID on me the lady sneered and said "well you have to be 19 to buy a tickett and you don't have youre ID so you can't have one"
I'm 22 years old.
I know where you're comming from definatly

I know exactly where you are coming from! I am 27 with two little girls and get carded for everything including "R" rated movies. I have had several people tell me that I look like I am 18 or 19. I have learned to not let it bother me. Look at the bright side of things, when you are in your 40's and 50's you will look 6-7 years younger than everyone else! :)

lol No kidding. I hope I get that luck. My mom sure did. She's pressing 60 and people thought she was only 45!! But now she stopped dying her hair and what not but still you would never guess her age! Thanks for the comment.

I know how you feel. I had the same problem when I was younger. The bonus is that now that I am in my late thirties, people still think I am in my late twenties. They look at me really strange when I say I have teenage children. btw I looked at your photo and sorry to say, you do look a lot younger than 22. I used to wear makeup and change my hairstyle to try and make myself look older.

Oh my dear! Patience! You say you are only 22, lucky you. I always looked younger than I was and it was a pain. But over the years I have learned to enjoy it cause it wont last forever.I was in my late thirties before people stopped asking my age. You should be happy they still think you are young. It wont last long! Enjoy it!

Im 28 and would love to be asked for id. You will definatley prefer to look younger than your years than older, especially when you are older. Looking 16 isnt such a bad thing. If you look younger than of course people are gonna ask for id they get fined if they selll to the under aged,

When I was your age I used to have that happened to me all the time and sometimes I still do but rarely. I used to hate it when people said I looked like a teenager but honestly, I love it now. Trust me, the more older you get, the more you will appreciate it. I never used to believe it when people said this to me but trust me, it's true!

this is bound to sound funny to you at twenty two but I am a senior citizen now and I was ill and in the hospital a year ago with a bleeding attack of diverticulitis. One of my doctors was a woman of maybe forty or forty five and she looked at me and said Mrs Hatley are you really eighty? YOu do not look it. well the way I felt right then I felt like I was a hundred but I said yes I really am eighty. When I was in my early twenties I had the same problem as you. I looked younger than I was.

I have the same problem. I am 27 and I have a 3 year old daughter. The first time I dealt with the issue of looking too young was when I was about 7 months pregnant. I was shopping at Target and this teenager and her mother were in the same aisle as me. They talking about me loudly enough for me to hear and were commenting on how they couldn't believe I was pregnant at such a young age (they must have thought I was a teenager) and were snickering about how I looked. I was completely shocked. I turned around and said, "I can hear you talking about me and for your information I am 24 years old, married and have a college degree. Get your facts straight before you start talking about other people!" Then I also proceeded to say something like, "and so what I was a teenager, just because some teenagers do get pregnant it doesn't mean they deserve any less respect and won't be wonderful mothers."
I mean the nerve of some people.
I have to say that it's the younger women. I'd have say from 20 to 30 years old that seem to have a problem with how young I look and the fact that I have a daughter. Women in their 40's and up always come up to me and say how beautiful my little girl is and how happy and outgoing she is. Old ladies are always coming up to us saying my little one is adorable and talking to us respectfullly.
The 20 and 30 year olds are the ones that give you looks and make sly comments. Maybe they are just jealous? Who knows, I've just learned to take everything with a grain of salt and brush it off and just keep moving forward. I love my family and wouldn't trade them for the world and that is all that matters!
