i've been asked by a member who responded to one of my discussions what the red star with number 9 on it means. i can't answer him for the simple reason that i don't know what it means. i've been a member for quite some time now, although i'm not that active, but i'm still innocent to some of the rules and the uses of some of the functions here. said, his is a purple star with number 4..
to those who know, what does this mean and which one is better? i assume this indicates some kind of an achievement right?

Yes Desiree, It is a sort of achievement only. You have only 110 posts but you have rated positively by the mylot members many times. That no you get is for mylot reputation.
I had come up very slowly like the member you were talking about. Look I have not got to red star till now. I think the colour changes for every 5 counts. Your friend would have less than 40 as his reputation score. If you put your curser on the number on the you can see your score. You would have more than 85. Okay?? All the best

That red star is the rating mylot had assigned to you. A red star with a no 9 means you are good and a blue star with a no 10 means you are excellent

Its your star rating. Its how many people or how many times you've received positive ratings. For lower stars, they receive more negative ratings and less positive ratings. Negative ratings have more weight than positive ratings.
The star rating system is a joke by the way. It doesn't indicate "quality" at all. Go look at my activity, discussions and best responses for example.

when did the red star 9 comes to your?the first time you got here,or it grows from 1 to 9,i came here just some minutes ago,i am interest of it, well i don't have a number,and i don't know how to got one ,hope could got some ansowers, where are you from? i am from china

you are still at 112 you will be able to see your star rating once you cross 300 or 500 posts...i dont remember exactly.....you still need to cross that mile stone...
