Most people have their preferred brands when it comes to a certain product. For example,Nike is the only one for one of my male friends whenever he buy a T-shirt.And my dad bought all the electronic appliance with the same brand:Siemens. Actually,I am not a brand chaser, and I buy things according to my need, but sometimes, these famous brands are really tempting, and of good quality,of couse much expensive! So, are you a brand chaser? Is there any specail brand that you prefer? And do you buy some famous brand just because it could satisfy your vanity?

I don't care what logo a product has as long as it suits my needs. I know that when I was in school it was important to have the right brand of shoes etc. but I soon realised that this was an empty vanity. Now I get what I want and don't care about how much it costs as long as it's right. Sometimes the more expensive brand option is the best one and then I don't might paying more, but why waste money on just a name. There's far more I can think of to spend my money on!

I've never been a brand chaser, Bu in school being in brands meant you were cool and all that junk. To bad I was never cool in that aspect anyway lol. I know alot of people who just watch what brands you wear and instantly think...yeah, he's cool or she's rich, etc. Once a guy actually told me "What's wrong with you? You're so pretty but you don't wear brands." Boy, I felt like slapping the crap outta him but I just smiled and said..."brands don't make a person, personality does and yours stinks!" He and I don't talk anymore and we didn't know each other for very long when he decided to mention that to me. I mean to me, if it looks good, that's good enough for me. I have to admit, with appliances I do look for brand names because they may last longer than other brands and I like to use Avon or Jergen's when buying cosmetics. With clothes and shoes i don;t look for brands too much. I really don't think it's that important.

lol.. Poor guy must have felt pwned.. that was a nice reply... People always try to tel me " why dont you buy this? This has a brand name!" My only answer for them is .. " I aint comfortable" .. Thats what I do when someone tries to impose the brands they like on me.. I Aint a brand chaser, but in some things I'd like to go for a brand cos they have quality.. ex Apple .. All my friends said .. Apple has that.. Apple.. No softwares.. It'll be a Waste.. but on a mac..I did things that took me three years on the PC.. I stick with brands only when I think I have to. Not on clothes though.. electronics and other stuff..

lol wbn, thanks. I don;t know why I do or say things and people just tell me, "that's cool" or "ooohh" like if I dissed the person willingly. II'm just being me, but thanks! Glad to be cool. Atleast idon't got to wear brands to get there ;). Hi Bourne, I haven gotten that same comment a few times from people but I just tell them as it is. I'm not interested in if it's a brand. As long as it looks good on me and I agree comfort comes first. Can't be wearing a brand name shoe that hurts your foot for example. Makes no sense. I also agree on electronics and stuff to look for brands. Like I mentioned before. That is usually the area I go for with brands.

I'm not so much into brands. Not all of them are of good quality, and yet they are all expensive. I go for stuff that looks good and reasonably priced at the same time. I do buy branded stuff when they are on sale. But I never buy them at regular price.

Discounted brand is good, especially above 50%,i will consider it. Because i earn little, i have to consider the balance between income and expenditure, if one day i earned more, consumption will be a corresponding grades, and perhaps less than those of the accounting.

I have to admit that the brand I specifically go for when changing mobile phones is Nokia. This is nothing to do with chasing brands but it's because I'm used to this brand and like their products. I have certain brands that I stick to for my cosmetics as they suit my needs but they're not overly cheap or overly expensive, just ones that I've discovered after trying and testing for years and they suit me the best. The same with perfumes too. Now my husband is what I would call a fashion victim. He loves Hugo Boss and he can actually wear a whole ensemble of Hugo Boss down to his underwear and he'd be standing there in £2,500 worth of clothes! He spends £100s on footwear too, they have to be designer labels but I don't begrudge him any of it. We both work full time and don't have kids. He's not a drinker or gambler and he rarely goes out without me so buying expensive clothes and accessories is his passion so I don't mind. Personally I don't care if my outfit cost £20 or £2,000 as long as I'm comfortable in it :)

I will go to Nokia when I change cell phones. And as for your husband,I can totally understand his "passion".Actually, my ex-bf used to be such a person, but the difference is he couldn't afford it himself!

I'd like to say I'm not, but sometimes I am. Just yesterday, I was really excited because I got a $185.00 Coach shoes for $19.25. Normally I couldn't afford that brand. When I'm shopping for my son I often look for name brands too, because I know in this day and age wearing Hurley, Nike and brands like that are important to kids and their social standing. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.

No I am not a brand chaser, I cannot afford to be for a start so I do not bother! Perhaps if I had plenty of money I would be. They are tempting though you are right and you know you are getting something good if you buy them but it is just finding the money to do so in the first place.

I don't give much importance to brands. As long as it looks nice, of decent quality and affordable price, I'll buy it. I do think though that Lacoste shirts look very nice. They're just so friggin' expensive! Here in the Philippines they cost over P3,000!

Based on the examples you have given to illustrate the meaning of brand chaser, then maybe I can say I am not a brand chaser. Nevertheless, I do buy branded goods sometimes, or at least the better known brands, when it comes to things like clothing, apparels and electronics. For sports apparels, I usually like to choose among Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Fred Perry. For electronic products, I usually trust brands such as Sony, Philips, Canon, Epson, HP, Panasonic and Sharp. I don't stick to or restricted myself to only one brand. What I usually go for are more trusted and notable brands that I know are reliable and of good quality in design/manufacture. I don't mind paying a little more compared to the lesser brands, for the extra peace of mind. I don't usually go for fashion statement items such as the Apple iPod.

I find most times that brand names have grand prices. We are on a budget(seems all the time) so we look for deals and try alternative brands like store brands. One example is Advil. If I buy the store brand it is half the price or less than Advil and it has EXACTLY the same ingredients. As far as clothes go I always check out the clearance racks first. Sometimes you can find a brand name for a really good deal if you are looking. I have actually made a game of it to see how much I can get for my money. Most times I go for the best deal regardless of brand name or not. I just get what I like and what I can afford. My son is a brand chaser liking Nike, Hollister and American Eagle. When we shop there we still check out the clearance rack first, it has saved us some cash on a few occasions. We have a certain budget for clothes so I try and get the most for my $$$$ but my son rather have the name brands so he gets less outfits.

I use to be a brand chaser when I was at home, but no longer am. I have to pay for stuff now and those $78 jeans could buy my children both some clothes. I will get name brands at a yard sale if I know they are good quality. I have found a few that lasted for me for a long time. But find it in vain to buy them now. If I like it I will wear it no matter what brand it is. But my grandmother, who raised me, did not shop at Walmart, only the mall. So this is one reason I use to always wear them.

i am not a brand chaser. i am more on the price if it is reasonable and on the looks. also there are a lot of merchandise which are not branded but with high quality. you just know where to look.

i dont necessarily think that a brand name means good quality...i have bought from a certain store just to get their 'name' and i have found that the seams are poorly done and other issues with their products. it seems that you are just paying for the name!

I am not really brand conscious. Branded items can be really very expensive. I am more conscious about quality. Well, I do have some stuffs that are of well-known brandnames. But that is because I trust these brands when it comes to quality.
