Wow... earned $1.11 yesterday for about 40 posts

I have no idea how mylot calculates earnings.. and I'm not about to try to figure it out... just be happy with the blessings as they come. And no, I didn't upload any photos yesterday.

Hi Jidesh and welcome to MyLot... hope you have a lot of fun here. Whoa, you STARTED 25 discussions? Wow, that's a lot... the most I start in a day is three so far. Am considering making sure to post a picture with each of my new posts since I think that would draw more people to the discussion. I have a software program that allows me to create professional looking graphics really easily so I can make some really unique and impressive graphics that will really draw attention.

I can see you're a very prolific contributor... member for only two months with a post count well over 1000... I've been here about five weeks with only a couple of hundred posts under my belt $1.20 for a day is great earnings... was about the same as mine as far as personal earnings goes. I've noticed that of my five referrals only two have actually posted... I wonder why people bother to join then don't bother with posting.

Thanks. And congratulations on getting $2.05 yesterday. Actually, I do have referrals, but the day I earned $1.11 I none of my earnings were from them. I actually have five referrals but three of them haven't made any posts so only two are active. Well, most of my posts are just three or four sentences. But the day I earned this amount it was more like an average of seven sentences because I did several very long responses. The weird thing is that I have tried to match it since and haven't done so (though I earned $0.75 yesterday plus $0.19 from my two active referrals) So I really don't know how the earnings algorithm works... nor do I plan to try and figure it out LOL. All I do is contribute to the best of my ability and let the earnings take care of themselves. Having said that, I have reached payout for this month so I'll have a nice little bonus in my paypal account this time next month since I've still got half a month to go so I should hit around $20.

I'm not really sure how I did it... but I was sure happy with it. The mylot recalculation of earnings gained me about an extra 10 cents so that was nice too. You probably know more about adding pictures than I do since you have a higher number of posts than I do. But I don't think we get paid as much for loading pictures in our profiles as we do for uploading photos into our discussions.

I love to talk and express my opinions so mylot is just perfect for me... and yeah, the money makes it even more fun!

Yes, I must admit that enjoyment comes first on here and earnings comes in second. It is nice to get rewarded for the contributions I make... to a degree it encourages me to make even more worthwhile contributions.

Yes, I don't know whether getting best responses increases your earnings. But it may contribute. I always try hard to post good responses with lots of information in the hopes of getting a best response. I get a childlike delight in getting an email from mylot stating 'congratulations, you have earned a mylot best response'. Guess I must be a little vain But yes, it is possible to earn well on mylot. I notice that people who complain that they aren't earning much seem to have very short responses like one or two sentences. So that is probably one of the reasons.

Yeah, I'm really happy with it. I earned $1.11 two days ago, $0.77 yesterday and I plan to try and get enough today to get me over payout level... since I've got less than $1 to go I should be able to manage it Everybody who has mentioned referrals seems to mention that most of them are inactive I've noticed. I have 5 with only two active. Go figure! Oh well, guess it's just a matter of referring more and more to increase the active ones. Even if only 25% are active then if you had 100 referrals you'd have 25 actives... if you had 1000 referrals you'd have 250 that were active... wouldnt that be nice?

All you really need to do is make sure that ALL your posts are worthwhile, on topic and interesting... like the one you have made here. Also, see if you can refer some other members. You'll probably find that many referrals are not active but the more you refer the more active ones you get. Good luck with it.

I'm having a LOT of fun on MyLot so I certainly do plan to keep it going. One of the things I like to do is go to a topic that really interests me and that I can have a lot to say about... I'm certainly not backward at coming forward

I'd say I average about $0.50 per day. The days I work it's about $0.20 because I don't have as much time for posting. But the days I have off I have more time and post a lot more. Now that I have referrals earning too it tends to increase my earnings. I generally earn at least $0.10 from them per day. That is only 2 active referrals out of five. So I would really like to increase the amount of referrals I have. I noticed the top referrer on mylot hasn't been active for sixty days. I wonder how many referrals he has... I wonder if he isn't active because he's built his referrals to a point where he doesn't need to post any more and just lets them earn his money for him.

I hadn't heard that one before... however, I am frequently on for more than two hours. Thanks for the info. Actually, yesterday I earned 19 cents for only 5 posts... though one of them was extremely long... It was a discussion I posted about a family pet so that could have earned a bit even though so far no-one has responded.

All you can do is your best... just enjoy posting and the earnings will take care of themselves. Good luck with it... oh, and congratulations on your star rating too, well done.

I think one of the biggest things that contributes to your earnings is to have longer posts... yesterday I made several long posts which is probably why I earned so much despite the fact that I didn't make a huge number of posts. Try making longer posts and see how it effects your earnings. Good luck with it.

Wow, 15 posts for only 8 cents... that's barely half a cent per post... I think my average earnings is about 1.5 cents per post. Don't bother trying to figure out the mylot earning algorithm... it would be impossible for a human mind to comprehend Some days I make 50 posts that I think are really good, nice and long, lots of information etc... yet I barely earn 65 cents for the day. Other days, like the other day, I do less posts but earn more... it's weird! Maybe they make it that way deliberately so it's harder to work out... the earnings information tells us not to discuss the algorithm with a view to working out how it works to get more earnings (ie. gaming the system)

All I can say is for you to enjoy yourself and let the earnings take care of themselves and you'll do fine.

Well, the day I got those earnings I started three new discussions and responded to every person who made a response. I also responded to seven discussions posted by other people, one of those discussions I made four responses to.
