Do you know your neighbors ?

I know my neighbors, we talk across lawns, sometimes lend a cup of sugar...... but do not like to get too close.

Oh Yes, I know all my neigbors. I have been living there for like 12 years of my life so I know them most likely but funny since sometimes i forget their name... heheheh

This is the 2nd time in my life that I have lived in a block of flats. I learnt the the hard way around, about who I got close to in the block. I forever had someone knocking on my door wanting to 'borrow" this or that, or knocking on my door and sitting in my flat for hours because they had a maid to clean up their homes, and they were bored! People gossiped a lot and stories were so twisted by the time you were told, oh they heard this or that. This time around, I am pleasant to everyone in the block, greeting on passing by up/down the stairs, stopping maybe to chat a few minutes, BUT I have not made any close friendships with ANY of them! My sugar, tea, etc lasts the month, and I am able to clean my home without feeling the need to have to entertain others that have maids to do their cleaning! I keep my personal business to myself so no stories get carried around and twisted either! I have plenty of friends - not living in my block, and do volunteer work a few days a week, so there is no need for me to get that close to people living in my block.

i don't know them all, they are come from different part of our country. they just stay in our place because they currently work here. sometimes i see them, but i don't even know their name.

i dont know well, i know them, but we are not friends we are just neighbors, just say "hello" or "do you have some sugar" or something like that

I think it is normal not to know your neighbors anymore. However, what I find ironic is we talk to strangers on the net but we don't talk to our neighbors anymore.

We pretty much know all of our neighbors (we get along with most). Two of our neighbors have kids the same age as my daughter which is nice. But we are moving in a couple of months so will have to do the whole "meet n greet" thing with our neighbors all over again. It can very awkward to meet your neighbors.

Neighbors are weird. It all depends in what kind of neighborhood you live in. Some have blocks that know each other and hang out. I just moved from the house i lived in for 2.5 years and didn't know one person's name around there.
