I love pizza, whether it is healthy or not. I have to have it at least once every two weeks. I always try to order from a place that doesn't make it so greasy and I say no to the extra cheese.

it can be made healthy or not.
for the healthiest use a homemade crust with a good percentage of whole grain flour.
use vegetables or fruit for toppings and either a modest amount of low fat cheese or use non fat cheeses.
do not heavily grease your pan, but use a stone for baking the pizza on.

Pizza has alot of grease that is what makes unhealthy for you but there is a little trick to help that out take a paper towel and lay it over the pizza and lightly press down you will soak up about 100 calories of grease that way.

Yes, the processed refined flour used to make the crust is unhealthy for you. The cheese is unhealthy, and most of the popular toppings are unhealthy. That all said, I love pizza and while I eat a very healthy diet 90% of the time or close to it, pizza is definitely a favorite selection when I choose to have something that is not so good for me.

Pizza is very unhealthy. Just the tomatoes sauce alone is not good for you because of the sodium, then they add whole milk cheese and processed meat toppings (yuck!). One piece of pizza - even vegetarian - can have as many calories as you are suppose to eat in one meal!

How can pizza be unhealthy~ there is bread, veggies, cheeses, meats~ everything from the food pyramid!
I love pizza and eat it often. I never thought of it as unhealthy.

Except for the grease, pizza is actually very healthy if you like all of the toppings. I make them at home, which cuts most of the grease. It's easy, you can either make the dough from scratch or buy a ready to mix package from the store. Add a variety of toppings, I love veggies, and there you have it. You can literally put the whole food pyramid on a pizza. Try it, it's fun!
