It seems traffic is getting worse and worse now, more congestion is typical in bigger cities.Traffic jams aren't just annoying, they are expensive.Just imagine the extra money and fuel we wasted because of traffic jam,by add them up is $68 billions a year, showned by researchers.
This a combanition of factors. The amout of people, vehicles, the amount of roadway is there, there is a lot more demand than there is supply.
Do you get the nightmarish drivers face when you were stuck in a traffic congestion?Or you just wait and try to be not annoyed?

traffic jams are really gritting on the nerves, that is for sure, every gets into a bad temper including the passengers in the car. Then that is awful everyone is in a bad mood and I find some people stay mad all day afterwards.

I hate traffic jams too, especially when it's caused by accidents.. Because drivers will tend to slow down to see wat's happening and thus causing the whole traffic behind them to start slowing down.. And plus, the ones involved in the accident are to blame, if they knows how to drive properly, accidents wun happen.. Both parties are at fault.. And i just hate it when jams are caused by that.. BUt no matter how annoy i'm , it's also of no use, i can only wait, unless i'm quite near to my destination, i will get out of the car and walk there instead..

Traffic jams are a common thing now here in our city. It has become a part of our daily activity. If we end up reaching our destination without having to stick in a jam we feel we have been lucky. Actually the problem is that with more of surplus income and increased sources of generation of funds to buy vehicles the number of vehicles have increased many folds but the infrastructure to support such heavy rush of vehicles has hardly improved. Even where some efforts are made the projects have run into cost overruns and are held up for want of funds. It is a long wait when one should be seeing smooth traffic our here.

I get crazy annoyed with traffic jams! Its usually around rush hour that I leave my house to go to my boyfriends when he gets off of work and its absolute madness. It normally takes me 20 minutes to get there when there isn't traffic but with it, it takes me 45-50 minutes to get there. I get stuck on main roads and followed by the crazy highways. Its not just annoying its really dangerous. I've had many near collisions with people trying to speed to get where they are going, knowing they are putting other people in danger.

My nearest county town,10 miles away, has a population around 15000,and it gets quite snarled up during Rush hour (Why does it get called rush hour anyway, when nobody's going anywhere?) I try not to go into town when it's like that, but if I have to,weather permitting,I'll put my folding bike in the back of the car, park out from the town centre to avoid the worst of the traffic, and bike around past all the stationary cars!Much faster...

Since I like to read this is not a problem for me. I always have a book or two in my car and when I get stuck in traffic congestion I just pick up my book and start reading. It relaxes me and before I know it I am where I want to go. I also have my CD tapes and will put music on. The way I look at it is there is no sense in getting upset because that doesn't make the traffic move any faster.

authorities should regularize buying of vehicles. in the philippines, traffic are worsening because of so many surplus vehicles which are being sold at cheap prices. i hope our government should do something about this. it's making you crazy when you are stuck in a traffic for how many hours especially this summer season, when heat is very intense. crimes related to traffic are increasing.

I do not drive, and to be honest with you I am sometimes glad that I do not because the roads are a nightmare. I walk to school of a morning and some days the roads are just blocked full of traffic. I just could not be bothered with that, I think I would still walk even if I could drive, I would probably still be there in the same amount of time!

I hate traffic jams. It always drives me crazy, especially when I'm in a rush! When I'm stuck in traffic, I get so irritated and so annoyed. But I don't have the choice but to pray for miracles and wait till the traffic starts moving.

Off course it is right, but first of all public should co-operate with the traffic police by following the traffic rules this is the primary thing after that government should plan for wider roads, by widening the roads by analysing what might be the next 25 years traffic and should not allow any road side constructions up to a minimum of 100 yards from the road, with that in future also if possible they can extend the road with out any problems. but any how if public are non co-operative/ uneducated/ foolish/ drunken/ avoiding traffic rules we can't stop traffic jam, how much you educate them no use but they should them selves REALISE then only it will solved other wise no way.
we are also facing the same problem since two decades but still no change in the public and too worst behaviour of public, once I saw in a news paper that "one person told to another person that why you are avoiding the traffic rules and so rash driving, then the person beaten & seriously injured the first person by saying that who are you told these, that to me", this is the situation now a days, in these conditions how we stop them as a common people but this can be stop by strict actions from the Police (by avoiding the influences)with sincerety.

whoa thats a lot of money we're wasting on these snarling blowing horns!!!i hate when you're out to go somewhere and all you do instead of driving is to move on snail's pace.i feel what people should do is to take public transport and share cars to go places.what government can do is to allow certain registration numbers only to go out on road in time slots.maybe that can help.these days i see most of the cars carrying only one or two passengers where they have capacity to carry 7 people.car pooling can be a good idea to solve this problem.
