We Got A New Puppy About A Week Ago And We Named Her Shadow. She Looks Like A Rat Terrior Sort Of Mix, But Oh So Cute! Anyway, I Have Noticed That She's O.k. As Long As There Is Someone In The House. Whenever There Is No-one In The House, You Can Hear Her Howl And Bark And Whimper And I Have Just Noticed That While Were Gone, She Starts Chewing Things. I Heard Something About This Once On A T.V Show, But Isn't This Like Seperation Anxiety Or Something?

Yes, separation anxiety. The dog whisperer recommends you start your dogs day (or time you will be away) with a brisk walk or jog for 30 minutes or so- if you can't do that put them on a treadmill for a little while- then feed them a meal. Then you will leave them tired out with a full belly (don't forget they need to go out 20-30 minutes after eating, too). Don't make a big deal of your coming and going- they will feed off your excited energy. (Ex, my dog isn't greeted until we have removed our shoes and coats and then she is spoken too in a normal tone of voice and pet calmly). I don't know if there are any tips or anything on the site, but here is the site for Cesar Millan/the Dog Whisperer http://www.cesarmillaninc.com/ Hope that helps a little! :)

I had a friend at work that had a dog that didnt like to be home alone. She used to leave a tv or radio on during the day when she was at work so that the dog would here voices all day.
