The very first two discussions made on this forum were deleted. The 3rd one survives to this day. It was on the subject (link added below) "how to transfer pic from digital camera into microcontroller": http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/3.aspx Reading the responses I just laughed so hard. Have a look at responses and come back to respond: Did you find the humor? How do you think mylot has evolved? Is it on the better side or worse? What direction you see mylot going in future? Thanks!

I laughed so hard at the response kamran that I had coffee coming out of my nose! A couple of observations: 1. Some people just said 'wth' whereas now on the lot you see a lot of 'wtf'. NOT an evolution in the right direction. 2. Thank heavens there are now categories to put these kind of 'questions' in! 3. A lot of the first members, were I think from countries where English is not their first language. 4. The jokes posted were hilarious and I can't believe they stayed up. 5. The poster didn't answer ONE comment. Sad. 6. The majority of the stars were really really low! LOL So on the whole, I would say the site has evolved considerably and in really good directions, especially in categories, monitoring the length of responses, and encouraging more discussion. But I am glad that these kind of discussions are still up - for comic relief if nothing else and to show us how far we've come. I even recognized a few names, but really have to wonder how many of those responders are still here and whether they've evolved along with the site! LOL

LOL! I laughed like heck and I even tried to make face expressions to have the full taste of the responses that people were leaving there. LOL! how they chastised the poster as if he is asking about aliens, and one said so gloomily that he/she doesn't know it and kept repeating the same thing. That discussion is hilarious and same is with some other earlier discussions. I would agree that this site has evolved a lot in good direction. It is much more maturer and better, both in quality and participation. It has evolved as a forum too from the time I joined here. "those responders are still here and whether they've evolved along with the site!" LOL! that would be an interesting practice! Thanks for sharing, spark!:-)

I particularly liked the Professor's "Ask your camera". LOL Too funny. I'm glad you brought this to our attention. I needed a good laugh.

Thanks for posting this, the responses to that discussion are a hoot! I think I'm going to go back and read all those early discussions and maybe post an answer to them, too.

Oh, and to answer your other question, I think Mylot has changed a lot. I was on this site pretty close to it's early days and a lot of the answers were very short and the discussions were kinda broad. I remember people copying and pasting "thank you" to every response. But, now, people are really writing things out and starting better discussions.

I checked out a couple of hundred of those old discussions and it makes me wonder if Mylot was even paying money back them. Also, I wonder if it started between college students or something as the questions are so technical. Many of them don't have a description of what they are asking about.

Hello desertdarlene!:-) Some of the responses there are hilarious and funny. I would be interesting to answer those discussions. I once did just that, I responded to discussions which were over a year old. I to think that mylot has evolved much and quality has improved. Thanks for sharing!:-)

How about the two that answered with jokes? that was funny. I had to read the question several times and I still didn't completely understand it. The quality of discussions have improved over the year that's for sure and the responses are more detailed too. I think mylot is moving forward and with the new updates and features, it continues to do better. Let's just hope the small glitches are fixed soon enough.

Hello maddysmommy!:-) Those two users kept repeating (copy pasting) same jokes in later discussions too, LOL! I would agree that quality has improved a lot and so has the maturity of participant. Let's hope together that it continues to improve and glitches get figured out! Thanks for sharing!:-)

Wow, that was interesting! I did love it! I wonder why didn't I ever give a thought to check out the foremost discussions on myLot despite knowing how to do it. Gosh, the responses were so ridiculous and lackadaisical. I would have been upset and quit myLotting had I joined here back then. MyLot sure has flourished tremendously and significantly in a relatively short period. Full marks to the admin of myLot. Thanks for posting this one.

Hello I_LUV_U!:-) It just crossed my mind too to check earlier posts. I did it once before and left a response but to some later post. Yes, it's a tremendous difference between then and now. Mylot admin does deserve the credit but more so the users, who makeup this site. Thanks for sharing!:-)

i always remember the words from one of my friend here that quality counts not the quantity so i tried my very best to make my comments with a minimum of 4-5 sentences of course i find some words that i can share to the topic. english is not our language so it's difficult sometimes to look another terms for a very common words. LOL

Hello julyteen!:-) You and your friend are right that quality is more important. Mylot does like us to be descriptive and it helps people in earnings too, and in expressing themselves better! You are right about the difficulties for nonnative speakers too. I am also a non-native and sometimes find it difficult to find proper words! Thanks for sharing!:-)

OMG! these responses are really pointless, what will mylot do to that kind of responses after all we are being paid. There are many discussions that i cannot response and such topics are those regarding with computers as am very poor in it but i never tried to answer or type something foolish like those guys did there. They are wasting their time and also as others, mylot will filter out those replies. I think mylot should lay out some striker rules so that people won't fool around.

Hello healer!:-) It was interesting, wasn't it? I think those people were just after making some extra money putting nothing meaningful and mylot did pay even to those comments. It has changed though! and that's why we don't see much of that type of activity here or if there is, it gets deleted immediately! Thanks for sharing!:-)

that was interesting, thanks for sharing.. it seems the answers were better on post number 4. To think they were making more than a buck a post back then too, or so I have been told.

I have only been here a year and I see a difference in my lot just in this one year. I believe mylot is destined to become a vital part of a writer’s world. Mylot as been a slow but steady process of growth which is probably the best thing for stability. It looks like in the beginning most members didn’t take mylot seriously as I think most new mylotter’s do now. As mylot continues to grow I think it will draw in more people from the professional world. I am excited to see mylot even a year from now.

I do see a lot of professional or otherwise writers here and you are right here too that there numbers will grow as time passes. I do hope that mylot will be a better place 1 year from now! Thanks for sharing!:-)

Well, that was definitly interesting! So many very short responses. I guess it took awhile for people to figure out that quality counts and to make your responses a decent length instead of a one liner. I really do think mylot has evolved since the beginning and I believe mylot is much better now than it was 2 years ago. As for what direction do I see mylot going. Well I believe it will continue to improve and become an even better forum.

Hmm...it's sad to think that MyLot has gotten less technical, I always enjoy a good microcontroller discussion :). That said, there really isn't much point to what this person was trying to do. To top it all off, they didn't even specify the type of device they were trying to transfer the information to!

Hello ThePaintGuru!:-) I don't think mylot was ever very highly technically poised forum. If you pay attention, most of the people just copy pasted questions from yahoo answers or somewhere else and that's probably why they didn't take such discussions seriously, as you would have noticed that the poster didn't come back seeking what exactly he/she wanted! Otherwise, there are technical questions raised here, every now and then and you may find them in computers interests, or sharing of knowledge or even debates etc! I do hope that you find what you are looking here as well as the satisfaction in participation! Thanks for sharing!:-)

Those responses are hilarious! I love that someone just replied "I don't know". How helpful... I'm pretty new to MyLot but after seeing that I can say it's definitely improved since then, and people realize they need to contribute with some thought and effort. I'm actually really impressed by the quality of the discussions here, and think it'll get even better in the future.
