Do you still send greetings cards printed on paper (ex. Hallmark Cards)?

My aunt now resides in Virginia, USA. It's her birthday next month, so I went to the bookstore to get her a birthday card which I will send through postal mail.
In my family, we often send greeting cards to relatives residing outside the Philippines. Although usually given on special occassions like birthdays, Christmas, or other holidays, we sometimes send cards to convey thanks, or express other feelings.
I wonder if there are still many who send greeting cards printed on paper. If you search the Internet, there is a large number of sites offering FREE online greeting cards like http://www.e-card.com. They offer a wide selection of designs anyone interested can choose from.
It may have been easier if I just send my aunt an online greeting card. But, I prefer something tangible, or something she can hold and look at, so she'd always be reminded of how much we love and miss her.

I still send paper cards to friends & family members. I also still send letters on paper. Email & ecards are OK for messages, or quick updates. But to let someone know you are thinking of them, that they're important to you, a tangible letter that can be re-read whenever they choose is the way to go.

I do send paper cards in most situations. Howver, I don't buy Hallmark or any of those other commercial cards. I've been making my own on my computer and printer using card stock that I buy at the office store. I can't see spending $3.29 on a piece of paper from the store! I can print my own for less than 50 cents each and get something much more personalized and meaningfull.

I prefer sending a good old fashioned card. If someone sends me an e-card I feel they can't be bothered going to the store to pick one out. Since moving to another country, I very seldom get any cards from family and friends back home. If I can spend the time and the money to mail them out, why can't they? I like getting cards in the post.

I like to send cards through the mail because it makes the person know that I had to leave my computer and go to a store and search through the cards for just the right one. Also the person will be able as you say in your discussion to hold it and read it and save it.

I hate e-cards. They seem cold to me . I have sent my mother a printed card just last month on her birth day

Since we have the internet communication available anywhere at this time we seldom use the real greeting card but when we do it is really special. Its like the sweetiest thing you can ever do a person at this generation.

I still send greeting cards through snail mail. I even have one elder aunt and a couple of other relatives, whom I will handwrite a letter to because they do not use the internet.
I really enjoy receiving e-cards, but not nearly as much as a card through snail mail.

Hi, orange4me. I still send printed cards because I love them. I love shopping for them with someone special in mind. I enjoy making cards. It is fun for me to jot a note to someone telling them that I've been thinking of them. I enjoy receiving them as well. Thankfully, many people who care about me are still sending them as well.

Sending greeting cards that are printed on paper used to be very popular, but with the online revolution, e-cards seem to dominate more than paper now. Well, partly because it doesn't cost anything, it is easier to send and the receiver will receive it almost instantly.
I have not been sending greeting cards printed on paper these days, due to time and also that the price of card and delivery is getting higher, depending on where they are sent to.

Well I always send proper greetings cards, I would not dream of sending online cards to those who have computers. My mum would be really hurt if I did that to her, she is really funny about things like that. Plus a lot of my relations do not have computers. I actually prefer to still send proper cards.

For me, though we are in a new era of technology (with all the computers, internet and easy communicating devices) I still go with sending greeting cards by mail. Usually I buy greeting cards but if I have time I make my own. The receiver would feel more important and treasured if ever he or she receives something made out of effort. And for me, it's a lasting treasure, those cards that are sent in email (e-cards) can be erased but not those that are made and sent that can be kept and when read after years, you will be remembered again!

Dear friend,
I do mostly use cards and that too many during my school days and college days and now it has become very less and a verbal greeting is most often used. Still I rarely send greeting through computer. But even now I use cards that too very few.

Yes, I still send real cards on paper. I remember how my grandmother looked forward to the mail arriving every day. When I moved away, I frequently sent her postcards just so she'd have something special in the mail. She's gone now, but I still send my other grandmother and my husband's grandmother cards.

Hi orange4me! We used to send greeting cards on special occassions, but nowsdays most of my friends like sending e-card. It is convenience and free. We work in different cities, and when we remove to a new apartment, maybe we don't tell all of friends the detail address in time. For email, wherever we move, I can recieve their cards very easily. Our corporation send greeting cards pronted on paper every year when Christmas is coming, it is more formal than e-cards.

I think it is more sweeter if we send greeting cards personally.. I used to send 'personalized greeting cards' to the people that I dear most, it's just a simple card but i put a lot of effort on it :-)

Yes I send paper printed cards. Online cards don't seem to have the same effort put into them. I only use e-cards for stupid things like "Have a good day today" type of thing.
