I am the same. I only care about the contents. I only read books once so I am no bothered about the condition they stay in.

Yes i am the same, the only time i care about the condition is when im buying it and the price, like one time i got this nora roberts book that said new on ebay and it came in the mail all torn up. It made me mad b/c i spent 5 dollars on it when i could of gone to half price books and spent 1$ to 3

I agree. As long as books are readable and not in gross condition (covered in food etc) then I am happy. However I would not like to pay for what I thought was a new book and it turns out to be completely unreadable.

yea i was so POed, I left a nasty feedback, and will never buy books on Ebay again. I can get them at the book store for the same price.

Though I find hardback or as they refer to it as hardbound books to be more lasting than paperback or softbound ones, I still prefer paperback since I find them easier to read, by that, I would imply comfort, and convenient when I set them aside

i use to go to a bookstore that bought old books, but now we started a business and sell jewelry at a flea market so i just throw them in with the jewelry and sell them there, i make more money off of them that way

I agree with you that it doesn't matter, but I think a paper back is easier to hold. I also think a paperback is easier to handle when I am lying in bed at night. They used to be easier to put in my purses, when I carried one, too.

for me, maybe it's because i usually go to the library thus i prefer paperbacks to hardbacks as they're lighter for me to carry. hehe but if i find a hardback book that seems to be really interesting, then i'll definitely borrow that too, despite the weight. that's nothing. hehe

You could try ebay or something, but ebay takes a lot of the money you sell, you dont have a half price books there or i would say take it there and they will buy them. You could do a yard sell or something, i dont know if they have flea markets there, but thats where we sell our jewelry

I prefer paperbacks because they travel better. Reading on the road is what keeps me sane on long road trips. Hardcovers, however, sits better visually on bookshelves. I am always tempted to pick up hardcovers when I am browsing in bookshops, they feel really good in my hands, weighty and unyielding.

if it's a book i plan to keep for a long time, such as a index/research book,i prefer hardcover,it lasts longer. if it's "just something to read" then softcover is fine.softcover is easier to travel with as well, don't take up as much space (usually).

When I buy books, I buy paperbacks if possible because they're cheaper. If I really want the book and it's not available in paperback, I pay the extra money for the hard cover. I like paperbacks because they are easier to tote in my purse...in case I have a few minutes to read.

I only buy used books so price does not come into it, because second hand hardbacks and paperbacks sell for about the same price. If I am reading at home I really don't mind if it is paperback or hardback but if I want to take a book out with me to read while I am waiting for a train or sitting in a park, then of course I would rather have a paperback and not have to carry the weight of a hardback book. What matters most is the content between the covers.

I have to admit that I do prefer hardback books but I will read softcovers. In fact I read just about anything if I'm bored. I've seen myself in the car waiting for Hubby and reading the insurance papers because I was going stir crazy.

"dont judge the book by its cover" lol if its a good book it could be any ... paperback or hardback..... paperback are a lil easy to handle but hardback have their own advantage as they tend to last much longer!

I actually like trade paperbacks the best. I like the larger size and they are still easier to stick in a pocketbook and carry everywhere than a hardcover. Yes, I do take a book everywhere, even if I know I won't be reading it. It's my version of a security blanket.

yea i dont take a book everywhere but i do take it on outings that i think i may need it

I like to read in bed and sometimes find the hardback becomes too heavy after a couple of hours. So I often tend to buy paperback. Another plus point is that they cost less! I suppose the advantage with hardbacks is they tend to last longer. I have a couple of paperbacks which I have read a few too many times and they are literally falling apart at the seams.

hardback, they are a lot more durable and have a cleaner feel since the edges don't wear as fast and it doesn't get crinkled and wrinkled.

I love paperbacks better as they fit into my purse much nicer and are not so heavy. Plus I love to read in the bath and a hardcover tends to get heavy faster.

I prefer hardback books as they last longer but most of the time I read paperbacks as they are less expensive and they seem to be everywhere that I shop. As a homeschool family, I am always looking at books and getting some form of them. Several of our books are paperback as they kids like them better. They can be folded, carried easier, etc.

Yes i think it would be quit fun to homeschool, if your good at it, i think most mothers would teach there kids ten times better than a school system ever thought. but part of the reason would be all the one on one time. thanks for your responce

I prefer the hard back... eventhough it is a little more expensive and heavier... but then... there is no need to put protective cover... and they usually are sturdier or stronger than the ordinary paperback... aside for that... they look good when put in a book shelf... like the ones in the library...

I am just like you, as long as its a good book, I'm satisfied. However, I like them both for different reasons. I enjoy the paperback ones, because when I am laying down at night trying to read one of my books it is a whole lot easier for me to hold down the pages when its paperback. And with the hard back covers, I like them because your books will last lot longer and it just looks nicer majority of the time. But regardless I would take whichever one I happen to find first.

I prefer hardback, but like most I usually get paper back. But every once in a while, when the book store has a good sale you can find the most lovely hard back books to enjoy. I just love nice coffee table books for when company comes around.

I love a good story and hardbacks but I also like paperbacks as I can hold them easier when i curl up to read myself to sleep. They tend to slip off the bed onto the floor and do not get crumpled as they are smaller. I like hardbacks when I am reading during the day though as they are easier to hold when I am sitting in a chair reading.

yea thats how it is with me, i like a hard back when im sitting up and reading and prop it up on a pillow in my lap, then i like paperback when i read in my bed
