You reccomendations would be appreciated.

Hey, I have a 12 year old son, and like his father he loves to play video games. I've been buying him systems and games now me being a video game lover, I tend to be open minded when getting him games. His moth does not always appreciate this, as one could understand. Anyways what kind of games would you buy for children? any suggestions on games suitable for a 12 year old? Many thanks Eso

Look out for some educational ones. If he has seen you playing FPSs and MMRPGs, then he might want to play one too, but explain to him that he cannot play those games till he comes of age. I for one liked Sesame Street when I was a 12 yr old. You can try to get him some Sports games like the New Series Of FIFA release by EA Sports. You could also get him some racing games like NFS Underground. I would like to add that you refrain from buying him the Most Wanted, cos it would make him hit the streets with a car and make the police chase him. hope the Selection of games is good enough for your son. bourne

thanks for your response. I would like some educational ones but I as a kid never liked most of them so I've never been keen on searching for them. Unless I had some in mind and could check them out. As for FIFA that's a great Idea I should have thought of it myself ... he really loves soccer so I don't know why I didn't think of it. I don't know about sesame street he is a little too advanced for that at this point, but he does have younger step siblings so maybe still worth a shot. Anyways thanks for the info :) .

yea I'm big into sports and games as well I don;t think he cares for baseball (I didn't either at his age) Football maybe. What about any over looked sports games like golf or bowling etc do you know any good ones?

well hmm there's game for 12 year old's but those games a 12 yr old dosn't want as you can tell for your self i wouldn't get them voilent games i would get them like mario brother's and most racing or driving game's get him into car's...

I don't think anything with too much violence is good, but I do like games where children have to use their brains to think things out, it helps them in school.

I'm not sure what to buy a 12 year old. I would suggest this game though. It is called Crash Banditcoop. I think that is the way you spell it. I would suggest the four wheeling game also. He can drive a four wheeler and race other ones. He can also upgrade his four wheeler and get faster ones that can make long jumps on the tracks. He can race on dirt tracks and some of them have snow on them too.

Buy him a Wii. There's lots of games there for people of all ages. It's also backwards compatible with Gamecube games, so you'll have a lot to choose from. Try Mario Party 4-8 and Mario Kart Wii which came out today. Also there's games like Wii Sports (comes with Wii) and Wii Play.

Anything rated E (Everyone) or T (Teen) should be just fine. There are plenty of sports games, action games and RPGs(role playing games) that would be suitable for him. Series/Games to look for Super Mario NBA/NFL Live Madden Fifa Final Fantasy Hot Shots Golf Metroid Zelda Tales of Street Fighter Persona 3
