while most women are left holding the baby for a good 20 yr sentence of hard work and worry most fathers (not all)can return 2 a single life complete with full-time baby sitter.. at minimum cost.. not to mention the ones who dissapear altogether, only to turn up years later to claim fatherhood of a fully grown adult.. we have all heard of the women who bleed men dry, but in my experience it is usually the other way round... there must be a way of sharing equal responability in this day and age as every child should have the right to be aware of both genetic parents and if possible be financally provided for by both of them.. if people are old enough to reproduce then they are old enough to be responable for thier issue... as most women bear this out... in this day and age of genetic testing and contraception there is no excuse for men not to share in the burden or joy of a new life...

That is kind of a biased opinion. Some girls purposely get pregnant and get rid of the father as they have what they want, a child and an easy life on state benefits. Fathers may not allways have the choice to stick around and be daddy. If what ever the reason the child can't have both parents about then the missing parent should idealy support the parent who has custody. Here in the UK there is the CSA who will chase up maintenance off the missing parent and can even deduct the money from wages. There was news in the papers a while ago to that if you failed to pay for your child you could go to prison, be electronically tagged, loose your passport and driving lisence.

the csa in britain was modelled on the american one... but instead of improving the system the english one only targets those fathers it can catch or who dont know how to aviod it..making it a completly unjust system for those fathers who are strugglng to work and be there for their children... mothers if there are any who are stupid enough to bring up a child alone on state benefits should have to declare the father for the sake of the child who in the future (I think) has a right 2 know who they are geneticaly connected to...
