I would much rather be the one being interviewed, as I am not sure if I could take all the pressures of being the interviewer. Interviewers not only do interviews but must do various other things depending on the type of job they are in.

Thats a fact. Interviewers have other works, interviewing is just a part of their job but not the whole thing. But when u talk about pressure i think in an interview the interviewer is under less pressure than the interviewee.

This is true. However, I suppose the effect it has on each party depends on that persons own personality. I know that I am a bit of a introvert and would rather be a more quiet interviewer and hardly qualified to scold and leave the interviewee under any lasting impressions as I know some jobs require of the interviewer.

To start with...in the initial stages of the career ..I feel its best to be a interviewee...the interviews are a form of communication with the established names in the industry and they show us where we are and where we need to heed...And As one progresses in the career and at some stage should take up the interviewer( not for taking command over a person) to share ones experiences and progressively the person's abilities and guide him/her accordingly. So its a matter of time and expertise.its important to be both a interviewer and an interviewee

u r absolutely right. It is necessary to take up both positions in our career. I just asked wat do u like to do the most being an interviewer or interviewee. It was a choice between these two . Both may be important in life but we will one thing more than the other due to some reason. The reason may be funny as i said or serious as u described.

Obviously asking a question is easier than answering it....so Interviewer will be my option...

I have been on both sides of the desk. If you aren't comfortable being interviewed you will not make a very good interviewer.

I have been on both sides of the coin and I must say that I like being the interviewer more. I am the one asking the questions now instead of being the one in the spot light. I never really cared for interviews anyway.

Ya its really nice to play the interviewer role in life than the interviewee. Now i am an interviewee and even i dont care being one but hope i become an interviewer one day like u because i would like to take up that responsibility and enjoy that part.

Yup I also prefer to be the interviewer. I worked before as HRD supervisor and I find it very interesting to interview different kinds of people from all walks of life. Since we are accepting High School graduates to college grads for different positions in the company.

I will say this... It depends on the type of interview. If it is a clinical interview... then let me be the interviewer as I am trained to do it. I know how to get the clinical history from a client and how to help him or her with the information that I get. If it is a journalistic interview then I will be the interviewer...I like asking questions and finding answers and in my youth was trained to do this well. Yet if it be for a job... I have never been an interviewer and do not know if I would be a good one or not as I have not been trained. And frankly, I am not keen on being interviewed either as I am not quite sure sometimes how to answer the questions that I am asked. I am facing the need to go out and get another job as the clinic I am counseling at is closing... I am not looking forward to it.
