The baby made a few new 'friends'...yesterday's cemetary experience

I'd always heard that little ones were more gifted in seeing what the rest of us couldn't see but this experience literally brought tears to my eyes...
We'd decided to walk around the cemetary because the weather yesterday was fairly nice. My oldest daughter was with me and the 17 month old was in his stroller. Since winter is just finishing, it had been a while since he'd been in a stroller so he wasn't sure what to think of it. He stayed quiet the whole walk there. Eventually we made to the top section of the cemetary where most of the older graves are. One section in particular has always drawn me in...a stone for 6 day old twin boys, next to that is a 2 year old boy cousin to the twins, beside him is his infant sibling and the on the other side of the infant is the mother (aunt to the twins)who died at age 27.
It was at this point that my baby suddenly got very excited. He began chattering and pointing and it really seemed as though he was having a conversation with these 4 little ones who died so many years ago (mid 1800's).
It was so sweet to watch, he even made his sign for "come here" to these unseen souls so I know he was infact seeing someone he wanted to play with.

I agree that children are more "aware" than most adults, as I also agree that we lose that ability as society straightens us into the logical and rational.
Being a Pagan, and a Paranormal Investigator, I have seen many things like this, and much of it is sweet, especially the giggling, when you can truly tell that there is something else there playing with them.
My favorite experience was also in a cemetary. My wife and I have remembered several lives together. On one particualr day, we were wandering through a cemetary and saw a tree we'd recognized. Mind you, neither of us had ever set foot in this cemetary before. Sure enough, there was a carving in the tree of a heart where both our past live's initial were carved into. We laughed so hard we nearly pee'd ourselves. Better than that, not 20 paces away, we found our gravestones from that life. Same names, same time frame as we had remembered, late 1800s.
Experiencing the paranormal on a good level is always fun and exciting and often shocking. I am glad to see that you were more accepting than most modern parents would be.

If your story hadn't moved me, I probably wouldn't have replied hehe. Child spirits always give me mixed emotions. They are generally very sweet and playful and that makes me smile. But realizing why they are spirits makes me sad.

Oh absolutely! We walk around up there anyway a lot when the weather is nice and this spring/summer I'm signed up to document all the graves for the areas biggest historical website....so he'll have plenty of time to visit with his little friends.

That's exactly what we discussed on the way home! Next time we will remember the camera. I'll have to do some rubbings anyway I think because some are so hard to read and without this project they'd probably be lost forever in another 10 years. I think that's a good idea to keep the ones of his friends..in a frame or a scrapbook or something. You never know, he might remember things when he's older.

That's a wonderful experience, and one I had of a four year old at the end of a wedding ceremony I attended last year. This little mite was the only one in the cemetery besides me, and she was totally oblivious to me as she marched across and around graves talking to her spirit friends. I took some pictures, one of which I'll share with you in this discussion.
As she walked past me at one point, she had a frown on her face, and was saying to one or more of her friends, "I don't want to go to the party, cos they won't let my friends go." She wasn't talking to me, that's for sure, so it was then I was alerted and got my camera out.
Brightest Blessings and thank you for sharing this experience with us.

And thank you for sharing your experience! That is so sweet, and in the picture it really does look like she's walking along next to someone, having a conversation.

That is a very sweet story. I don't know what I would have done if it were me there. I think that I probably would have gotten scared and high-tailed it out of there. Spirits tend to scare me because you can not see them.

It was a little unnerving but I figured it wasn't scary since they were probably just the little ones. We did keep hearing footsteps near us which made us nervous but again I just kept saying it was probably the little ones playing.

They say that children are innocent and 'see' things that we adults can no longer see, we have lost the ability by bringing other things upon ourselves. What a shame I say. It would be unnerving for me but I would have loved to have been able to have seen things and continued to see them. Sometimes you KNOW there is someone there, someone good, who loves you but you can't see anything so your adult mind says 'ridiculous' - when it isn't. I believe in the spirit world, it is just us that live on this heavenly plane that are so utterly stupid! God go with your little one, I believe he is blessed, and who knows for how long he will 'see' his friends, for friends they are! Thanks for sharing. HUGS
PS - I have asked if you will be a friend. I hope you will accept.

Of course I'll accept! I don't have too many "real life" friends that are as open minded about this as I am so I don't get to talk about it as much as I'd like to.

Oh your baby must be seeing ghost of that twins. I believe in that, my mother used to share a story with me that when i was a baby i also had this unseen friends, like when i am sitting on her lap and she is watching tv, i begin to laughed and point on the outside. And sometimes i cried on my crib because i see my unseen friend. Your baby is very friendly.

Whow! This is too creepy. I am watching Ghost Hunters right now. (A show on this issue that I enjoy). I have often heard that children and pets are more responsive to the paranormal.

It is not uncommon for little kiddies to see and communicate with spirit. Remember that they have NOT YET been brainwashed with scarey stuff on tv etc concerning ghosts and things that go boooo in the night. Therefore they have not emotionally? blocked out the ability to see and communicate.
Watch a little one sitting alone at play, watch how they natter away as if they are actually chatting to someone...there is a huge chance that they are actually doing just that...with a spirit child. Spirit children love to come and play, and feel most welcomed around earth children because they know they will not be judged or ignored (blocked)..I have witnessed a toddler insist that a bottle be made also for so and so at nap time!(cannot remember the name the toddler called his friend)

What a bautiful story ~ they do say that young children have a natural gift that becomes lost as we grow older.
It's comforting to think that our soul/spirit lives on after we die, and without a doubt i want to believe it with all my heart ~ it gives us so much hope, for this life, and beyond.
After all, this life is so short.. wouldnt it make sense that an a universe as immense as this, there lies something beyoned the grave? xxxx
